Indian Penal Code (45 of 1860) Section 289

Title: Negligent Conduct with Respect to Animal

State: Central

Year: 1860

Whoever knowingly or negligently omits to take such order with any animal in his possession as is sufficient to guard against any probable danger to human life, or any probable danger of grievous hurt from such animal, shall be punished with imprisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.

Title: Passing of Resolutions by Circulation

No resolution shall be deemed to have been duly passed by the Board or by a committee thereof by circulation, unless the resolution has been circulated in draft, together with the necessary papers, if any, to all the directors, or to all the members of the committee, then in India (not being less in number than the quorum fixed for a meeting of the Board or committee, as the case may be), and to all other directors or members at their usual address in India, and has been approved by such of the directors as are then in India, or by a majority of such of them, as are entitled to vote on the resolution.

Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 Section 289

Title: Maintenance of Accounts and Restrictions on Expenditure

State: Karnataka

Year: 1964

(1) Accounts of the income and expenditure of the municipal fund shall be kept, and receipts accepted and payments from the municipal fund made in accordance with the rules prescribed in this behalf. (2) Expenditure from the municipal fund shall, save as otherwise expressly provided in this Act, be incurred subject to the restrictions, conditions and limitations imposed in the rules prescribed in this behalf. (3) The municipal council shall, at the general meeting in April or after audit of the past official year's accounts, if such audit has not before that general meeting taken place, pass the accounts of the past official year.

Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Section 289

Title: Precautions During Repair of Streets

State: Karnataka

Year: 1976

(1) The Commissioner shall, so far as is practicable, during the construction or repair of any street, drain or premises vested in the corporation,- (a) cause the same to be fenced and guarded; (b) take proper precautions against accident by shoring up and protecting adjoining buildings; and (c) cause such bars, chains or posts to be fixed across or in any street in which any such work is under execution as are necessary in order to prevent the passage of vehicles or animals and avert danger. (2) The Commissioner shall cause such drain, street or premises to be sufficiently lighted or guarded during the night while under construction or repair. (3) The Commissioner shall, with all reasonable speed, cause the said work to be completed, the ground to be filled in the said drain, street or premises to be repaired and the rubbish occasioned thereby to be removed.
