Title: Danger or Obstruction in Public Way or Line of Navigation

Whoever, by doing any act, or by omitting to take order with any property in his possession or under his charge, causes danger, obstruction or injury to any person in any public way or public line of navigation, shall be punished with fine which may extend to two hundred rupees.

Indian Succession Act, 1925 Section 283

Title: Powers of District Judge

(1) In all cases the District judge or District Delegate may, if he thinks proper, (a) examine the petitioner in person, upon oath; (b) require further evidence of the due execution of the Will or the right of the petitioner to the letters of administration, as the case may be; (c) issue citations calling upon all persons claiming to have any interest in the estate of the deceased to come and see the proceedings before the grant of probate or letters of administration. (2) The citation shall be fixed up in some conspicuous part of the court-house, and also the office of the Collector of the district and otherwise published or made known in such manner as the Judge or District Delegate issuing the same may direct. (3) Where any portion of the assets has been stated by the petitioner to be situate within the jurisdiction of a District Judge in another State, the District Judge issuing the same shall cause a copy of the citation to be sent to such other District Judge, who shall publish the same in the same manner as if it were a citation issued by himself, and shall certify such publication to the District Judge who issued the citation.

Title: Vacation of Office by Directors

.....for a loan, from the company in contravention of section 295 ; (i) he ads in contravention of section 299 ; (j) he becomes disqualified by an order of court under section 203 ;5[***] (k) he is removed in pursuance of section 284 ;3[or] (l) having been appointed a director by virtue of hi s holding any office or other employment in the company,6[***] he ceases to hold such office or other employment in the company7[***]. ( 2 ) Notwithstanding anything in clauses (d), (e) and (j) of sub-section ( 1 ), the disqualification referred to in those clauses shall not take effect - (a) for thirty days from the date of the adjudication, sentence or order; (b) where any appeal or petition is preferred within the thirty days aforesaid against the adjudication, sentence or conviction resulting in the sentence, or order until the expiry of seven days from the date on which such appeal or petition is disposed of; or (c) where within the seven days aforesaid, any further appeal or petition is preferred in respect of the adjudication, sentence, conviction, or order, and the appeal or petition, if allowed, would result in the removal of the disqualification, until such further.....

Title: Countries to Which Load Line Convention or Safety Convention Applies

..... 1 [*] Any declaration made by or on behalf of the Central Government before the commencement of this Act in any form whatsoever, that the Government of any country has accepted or denounced the Load Line Convention or that the said Convention extends or has ceased to extend to any territory shall be deemed to have been made under sub-section (1). ________________________ 1. This is the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (known briefly as the Safety Convention) of 1960, replacing the Safety Convention of 1948. Income Tax Act, 1961 Section 283

Title: Service of Notice when Family is Disrupted or Firm, Etc., is Dissolved

(1) After a finding of total partition has been recorded by the Assessing Officer under section 171 in respect of any Hindu family, notices under this Act in respect of the income of the Hindu family shall be served on the person who was the last manager of the Hindu family, or, if such person is dead, then on all adults who were members of the Hindu family immediately before the partition. (2) Where a firm or other association of persons is dissolved, notices under this Act in respect of the income of the firm or association may be served on any person who was a partner (not being a minor) or member of the association, as the case may be, immediately before its dissolution.

Title: Power of Commissioner to Order Work to Be Carried out or to Carry It out Himself in Default

(1) If any private street or part thereof is not levelled, paved, metalled, flagged, channelled, sewered, drained, conserved or lighted to the satisfaction of the Commissioner, he may by notice require the owners of such street or part and the owners of buildings and lands fronting or abutting on such street or part including in cases where the owners of the land and of the building thereon are different, the owners both of the land and of the building to carry out any work which in his opinion may be necessary and within such time as may be specified in such notice. (2) If such work is not carried out within the time specified in the notice, the Commissioner may, if he thinks fit, execute it and the expenses incurred shall be paid by the owner referred to in sub-section (1) in such proportions as may be settled by the Commissioner.
