Title: Staff of High Commissioner and Auditor of Indian Home Accounts

1[251. Staff of High Commissioner and Auditor of Indian Home Accounts The provisions pf this Part of this Act shall apply in relation to appointments to, and to persons serving on, the staffs of the High Commissioner for India and the Auditor of Indian Home Accounts as if the service of members of those staffs were service rendered in India:-- Provided that-- (a) appointments to the staff of the Auditor of Indian Home Accounts shall be made by him subject, as respects numbers, salaries and qualifications, to the approval of the Governor-General in his discretion; and in relation to that staff the functions of the Governor-General under this Part of this Act shall be exercised by him in his discretion. ________________________ 1. Title: Substance of Accusation to Be Stated

When in a summons-case the accused appears or is brought before the Magistrate, the particulars of the offence of which he is accused shall be stated to him, and he shall be asked whether he pleads guilty or has any defence to make, but it shall not be necessary to frame a formal charge.

New Delhi Municipal Council Act 1994 Section 251

Title: Completion Certificates

(1) Every person who employs an architect registered with the Council or an architects or an engineer or a person approved by the Chairperson to design or erect a building or execute any work shall, within one month after the completion of the erection of the building or execution of the work, deliver or send or cause to be delivered or sent to the Chairperson a notice in writing of such completion accompanied by a certificate in the form prescribed by bye-laws made in this behalf and shall give to the Chairperson all necessary facilities for the inspection of such building or work. (2) No person shall occupy or permit to be occupied any such building or use or permit to be used any building or a part thereof effected by any such work until permission has been granted by the Chairperson in this behalf in accordance with bye-laws made under this Act. Provided that if the Chairperson fails within a period of thirty days after the receipt of the notice of completion to communicate its refusal to grant such permission, such permission shall be deemed to have been granted.

Indian Succession Act, 1925 Section 251

Title: Administration Limited to Suit

When it is necessary that the representative of a person deceased be made a party to a pending suit, and the executor, or person entitled to administration is unable or unwilling to act, letters of administration may be granted to the nominee of a party in such suit, limited for the purpose of representing the deceased in the said suit, or in any other cause or suit which may be commenced in the same or in any other Court between the parties, or any other parties, touching the matters at issue in the said cause or suit, and until a final decree shall be made therein and carried into complete execution.

Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Section 251

Title: Power to Carry Wire, Pipes, Drains, Etc., Through Private Property

The Commissioner may carry any cable, wire, pipe, drain or channel of any kind to establish or maintain any system of drainage, water-supply or lighting, through, across, under or over any road, street or place laid out for a road or street and after giving reasonable notice to the owner or occupier may place and maintain posts, poles, standards, brackets or other contrivances to support cables, pipes, channels, wires and lights on any pole or post in the city not vested in the Government and under the control of the Government and may do all acts necessary or expedient for repairing or maintaining any such cable, wire, pipe, drain, channel, post, pole, standard, bracket or other similar contrivance in an effective state for the purpose for which it is intended to be used, or for removing the same: Provided that such work shall be done so as to cause the least practicable nuisance or inconvenience to any person: Provided further that the Commissioner shall, with the sanction of the stnading committee, pay compensation to any person who sustains damage by the exercise of such power.

Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 Section 251

Title: Recovery of Expenses Incurred in Forwarding Passengers

(1) All expenses incurred under section 250 by an Indian consular officer in respect of the forwarding of a passenger to his destination including the cost of maintaining the passenger until forwarded to his destination shall be a debt due to the Central Government jointly and severally from the owner, charter, agent and master of the ship on board which the passenger had embarked. (2) In any proceeding for the recovery of that debt a certificate purporting to be under the hand of the Indian consular officer and stating the circumstances of the case and the total amount of the expenses shall be prima facie evidence of the amount of the expenses and of the facts that the same were duly incurred.
