Title: Special Trade Passengers or Pilgrims to Be Supplied with Prescribed Provisions

Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Section 247

Title: Provision of Privies by Owner or Occupier

(1) The Commissioner may, by notice require, the owner or occupier of any building, within such time and in accordance with such direction as may be specified therein, to provide flush-out or other privies for the use of the persons employed in or about or occupying such building or alter or remove from an unsuitable place to a more suitable place any existing privy. Such owner or occupier shall keep every such privy clean and in proper order. (2) Every owner or occupier of the ground on which any block of huts stands shall, within such time and in accordance with such directions as may be specified in a notice issued by the Commissioner, provide flush-out or other privies for the use of the inhabitants of such block of huts or alter or remove from an unsuitable place to a more suitable place any existing privy and shall keep the same clean and in proper order.

Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 Section 247

Title: Presentation of Accounts and Budget of Taluk Panchayat

.....fixed by the Government either generally or for any Taluk Panchayat; (4) If such budget estimate is not in accordance with the provisions of this Act or the rules and orders issued thereunder, the Zilla Panchayat may within two months from the date of receipt of the budget modify the same to secure compliance with the Act, the rules or the orders: Provided that the Zilla Panchayat shall not have power to direct that total proposed expenditure shall exceed the total of the estimated income of the Taluk Panchayat for the following year and the opening balance. (5) If the Taluk Panchayat fails to approve the budget estimate on or before the date mentioned in sub-section (1), the Executive Officer shall forward the budget estimate to the Zilla Panchayat and the Zilla Panchayat shall approve it with or without modification. The budget so approved by the Zilla Panchayat shall be certified by the Chief Executive Officer and thereupon shall be deemed to have been duly approved by the Taluk Panchayat.

CANTONMENTS ACT, 1924 Section 247

.....in accordance with such rules as may be prescribed; and (d) not undertake valuation of any assets in which he has a direct or indirect interest or becomes so interested at any time during or after the valuation of assets. (3) If a valuer contravenes the provisions of this section or the rules made thereunder, the valuer shall be punishable with fine which shall not be less than twenty-five thousand rupees but which may extend to one lakh rupees: Provided that if the valuer has contravened such provisions with the intention to defraud the company or its members, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to one year and with fine which shall not be less than one lakh rupees but which may extend to five lakh rupees. (4) Where a valuer has been convicted under sub-section (3), he shall be liable to-- (i) refund the remuneration received by him to the company; and (ii) pay for damages to the company or to any other person for loss arising out of incorrect or misleading statements of particulars made in his report.
