Title: Power of Tribunal to Enforce Compromise or Arrangement

(1) Where the Tribunal makes an order under section 230 sanctioning a compromise or an arrangement in respect of a company, it-- (a) shall have power to supervise the implementation of the compromise or arrangement; and (b) may, at the time of making such order or at any time thereafter, give such directions in regard to any matter or make such modifications in the compromise or arrangement as it may consider necessary for the proper implementation of the compromise or arrangement. (2) If the Tribunal is satisfied that the compromise or arrangement sanctioned under section 230 cannot be implemented satisfactorily with or without modifications, and the company is unable to pay its debts as per the scheme, it may make an order for winding up the company and such an order shall be deemed to be an order made under section 273. (3) The provisions of this section shall, so far as may be, also apply to a company in respect of which an order has been made before the commencement of this Act sanctioning a compromise or an arrangement.

Title: Works to Be Done by Licensed Plumber

.....the charges prescribed therefor, under that sub-section. (7) The Board shall make bye-laws providing for-- (a) the exercise of adequate control on all licensed plumbers; (b) the inspection of all works carried out by them; and (c) the hearing and disposal of complaints made by the owners or occupiers of premises with regard to the quality of work done, material used, delay in execution of work, and the charges made, by a licensed plumber. (8) No licensed plumber shall contravene any of the bye-laws made under this section or execute carelessly or negligently any work under this Act or make use of bad materials, appliances or fittings. (9) If any licensed plumber contravenes sub-section (8), his licence may be suspended or cancelled whether he is prosecuted under this Act or not.

Manipur Municipalities Act, 1994 Section 231

(1) The Manipur Municipal Ordinance, 1994 is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of this Act.

New Delhi Municipal Council Act 1994 Section 231

Title: Naming and Numbering of Streets

(1) The Chairperson may-- (a) with the sanction of the Council determine the name or number by which any street or public place vested in the Council shall be known; (b) cause to be put up or painted at a conspicuous part of any building, wall or place at or near each end, corner or entrance of such street or on some convenient part of such street, the name or number by which it is to be known; (c) cause to be put up or painted on boards of suitable size the name of any public place vested in the Council; (d) determine the number or sub-number by which any premises or part of such premises shall be known and cause such number or sub-number to be fixed to the side or outer door of such premises or to some place at the entrance of the enclosure there(SIC) (2) No person shall destroy, remove, deface or in any way injure (SIC) alter any such name or number of sub-number or put up or paint any name or number or sub-number different from that put up or painted by order of the Chairperson.

Karnataka Panchayat Raj Act, 1993 Section 231

Title: Government May Place Roads and Other Property Under Zilla Panchayat

State: Karnataka

(1) It shall be lawful for the Government from time to time to direct, by notification, that any road, bridge, channel, building or other property, movable or immovable, which is vested in the Government and which is situated in the district, shall with the consent of the Zilla Panchayat and subject to such exceptions and conditions as the Government may make and impose, be placed under the control and administration of the Zilla Panchayat for the purposes of the Act and thereupon such road, bridge, channel, buildings or other property shall be under the control and administration of the Zilla Panchayat, subject to all exceptions and conditions so made and imposed and to all charges and liabilities affecting the same. (2) It shall be competent for the Government by notification to resume any property placed under the control of a Zilla Panchayat under sub-section (1) on such terms as the Government may determine.

Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Section 231

Title: Power to Require Owner to Carry out Certain Works for Satisfactory Drainage

For the purpose of efficient drainage of any premises, the Commissioner may, by notice in writing,- (a) require any courtyard, alley or passage between two or more buildings to be paved by the owner or owners of such buildings with such materials and in such manner as may be approved by the corporation; and (b) require such paving to be kept in proper repair.

Karnataka Municipalities Act, 1964 Section 231

Title: Power of City Municipal Councils to Order Demolition of Buildings Unfit for Human Habitation

State: Karnataka

.....date of the order, and that it shall be demolished within six weeks after the expiration of that period. (4) In determining for the purposes of section 230 and this section whether a building is unfit for human habitation, regard shall be had to its condition in respect of the following matters, that is to say, -- (a) repair; (b) stability; (c) freedom from damp; (d) natural light and air; (e) water supply; (f) drainage and sanitary conveniences; (g) facilities for storage, preparation and cooking of food and for the disposal of rubbish, filth and other polluted matter; and the building shall be deemed to be unfit as aforesaid if and only if it is so far defective in one or more of the said matters, that it is not reasonably suitable for occupation in that condition. (5) For the purposes of section 230 and this section, "work of improvement" in relation to a building includes any one or more of the following works, namely:-- (a) necessary repairs; (b) structural alterations; (c) provision of light points and water taps; (d) construction of drains, open or covered; (e) provision of latrines and urinals; (f) provision of additional or improved.....

Merchant Shipping Act, 1958 Section 231

Title: Certificate of Survey to Be Affixed in Conspicuous Part of Ship

State: Central

Year: 1958

The owner or master of every ship for which a certificate of survey has been granted under this Part shall forthwith, on the receipt of the certificate cause one of the duplicates thereof to be affixed, and kept affixed so long as the certificate remains in force and the ship is in use on some conspicuous part of the ship where it may be easily read by all persons on board thereof.
