Title: Removal of Nightsoil

(1) The municipal council may from time to time fix the hours during which only it shall be lawful to remove any night-soil or other such offensive matter. (2) Whoever, - (a) when the municipal council has fixed such hours, and given public notice thereof by beat of drum, removes, or causes to be removed, along any street any such offensive matter at any time except during the hours so fixed, or (b) at any time, whether such hours have been fixed by the municipal council or not, - (i) uses for any such purpose any cart, carriage, receptacle or vessel not having a covering proper for preventing the escape of the contents thereof and of the stench therefrom, or (ii) wilfully or negligently slops or spills any such offensive matter in the removal thereof, or (iii) does not carefully sweep and clean every place in which any such offensive matter has been slopped or spilled, or (iv) places or sets down in any public place any vessel containing such offensive matter, or (v) drives or takes or causes to be driven or taken any cart, carriage, receptacle or vessel used for any such purpose as aforesaid through any street or by any route, other than such as shall from time

Nothing in this Chapter shall require the disclosure to the Tribunal or to the Central Government or to the Registrar or to an inspector appointed by the Central Government-- (a) by a legal adviser, of any privileged communication made to him in that capacity, except as respects the name and address of his client; or (b) by the bankers of any company, body corporate, or other person, of any information as to the affairs of any of their customers, other than such company, body corporate, or person.

Title: Power of Board to Lay Wires, Connections, Etc

Manipur Municipalities Act, 1994 Section 227

Title: District Planning Committee

(1) The District Planning Committee constituted under section 96 of the Manipur Panchayati Raj Act, 1994 shall also be the District Planning Committee for the purposes of this Act. (2) The District Planning Committee shall consist-- (a) members of House of the People who represent the whole or part of the district; (b) all the members of the State Legislative Assembly whose constituencies lie within the district; (c) Adhyaksha of the Zilla Parishad; (d) Mayor or the President of the Municipal Corporation or the Municipal Council respectively, having jurisdiction over the head quarters of the District; and Explanation.--For the purposes of this clause, "Mayor or the President" shall mean the Chairperson of the Municipal Council or, as the case may be, of the Municipal Corporation; (e) such number of persons not less than four-fifth of the total number of members of the Committee as may be specified by the Government elected in the prescribed manner from amongst the members of the Zilla Parishad, Nagar Panchayat and Councillors of the Municipal Corporation and the Municipal Councils in the district, in proportion to the ratio between the population of the rural areas.....

Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Section 227

Title: Power to Drain Group or Block of Premises by Combined Operations

(1) If it appears to the Commissioner that any group or block of premises may be drained more economically or advantageously in combination than separately, and a corporation sewer of sufficient size already exists or is about to be constructed within thirty-five meters of any part of that group or block of premises the Commissioner may cause that group or block of premises to be drained by a combined operation. (2) The expenses incurred in carrying out any work under sub-section (1) in respect of any group or block of premises shall be paid by the ownersof such premises in such proportion as the Commissioner may determine and shall be recoverable from them as an arrear of charges payable under this Act. (3) Not less than fifteen days before any such work is commenced, the Commissioner shall give to each such owner,- (a) written notice of the nature of the proposed work, and (b) an estimate of the expenses to be incurred in respect thereof and of the proportion of such expenses payable by him. (4) The Commissioner may require the owner of such group or block of premises to maintain the work executed under this section.
