Bengal Bonded Warehouse Association Act, 1838 Section 21

Title: Authority of Directors

State: Central

Year: 1838

1 * * * The Directors of the said Association shall have authority to expend the money of the said Association for the purpose of purchasing and erecting warehouses, and of warehousing and bonding goods therein, and to make and fulfil contracts for the said purpose, and to appoint and remove such servants as may be necessary for the said purpose and generally to manage all the concerns of the said Association, subject to such rules as may be laid down, in the Bye-laws of the said Association, and to keep the seal of the said Association, and to use the said seal in the affairs of the said Association, provided always, that the said seal shall never be affixed to any instrument except in the presence and by the consent of three Directors, who shall sign their names on every such instrument in token of their presence and consent. _______________________ 1. PUBLIC SERVANTS (INQUIRIES) ACT, 1850 Section 21

Calcutta Pilots Act, 1859 Section 21

Title: Commissioners of Part of Calcutta May Pass Orders Upon Charge of Breach of Duty Where Trial Unnecessary

Nothing contained in this Act shall be held to restrict1[the Commissioners for the Port of Calcutta] from passing such orders as may be deemed proper upon any charge of breach of duty preferred against any person employed in the said pilot service, when it shall not be deemed necessary that such person should be brought to trial for such breach of duty under the provisions of this Act; PROVIDED that no order for suspension, reduction or deprivation of appointment shall be made without the previous sanction of the Central Government. ________________________ 1. Stage-carriages Act, 1861 Section 21

Title: Interpretation Clause. "magistrate"

Police Act, 1861 Section 21

Title: Village Police-officers

Nothing in this Act shall affect any hereditary or other village police-officer, unless such officer shall be enrolled as a police-officer under this Act When so enrolled, such officer shall be bound by the provisions of the last preceding section. No hereditary or other village police-officer shall be enrolled without his consent and the consent of those who have the right of nomination. Police chaukidars in the Presidency of Fort William.- If any police-officer appointed under Act { The Bengal Chaukidari Act, 1856 } XX of 1856 (to make better provision for the appointment and maintenance of Police-chaukidars in Cities, Towns, Stations, Suburbs and Bazars in the Presidency of Fort William in Bengal) is employed out of the district for which he shall have been appointed under that Act, he shall not be paid out of the rates levied under the said Act for that district.
