Pondicherry University Act 1985 Section 20

Title: The Court

(1) The constitution of the Court and the term of office of its members shall be prescribed by the Statutes. (2) Subject to the provisions of this Act, the Court shall have the following powers and functions, namely :-- (a) to review, from time to time, the broad policies and programmes of the University and to suggest measures for the improvement and development of the University; (b) to consider and pass resolutions on the annual report and the annual accounts of the University and the audit report on such accounts; (c) to advise the Visitor in respect of any matter which may be referred to it for advice; and (d) to perform such other functions as may be prescribed by the Statutes.

Goa, Daman and Diu Reorganisation Act, 1987 Section 20

Title: Common High Court for Maharashtra, Goa, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu

(1) On and from the appointed day,-- (a) there shall be a common High Court for the State of Maharashtra and Goa, and for the Union territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli, and Daman and Diu, to be called the High Court of Bombay (hereinafter referred to as the common High Court); (b) the Judges of the High Court of Bombay (hereinafter referred to as the existing High Court), holding office immediately before that day shall, unless they have elected otherwise, become, on that day, the Judges of the common High Court. (2) The expenditure in respect of the salaries and allowances of the Judges of the common High Court shall be allocated amongst the States of Maharashtra and Goa and the Union in such proportion as the President may, by order, determine. (3) On and from the appointed day, the common High Court shall have, in respect of the territories comprised in the States of Maharashtra and Goa and the Union territories of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, all such jurisdiction, powers and authority as, under the law in force immediately before the appointed day, are exercisable in respect of those territories by the High Court of Bombay.

Where one person signs and delivers toanother apaper stamped in accordance with the law relating to negotiable instrumentsthen in force in 1 [India], and either wholly blank or having writtenthereon an incomplete negotiable instrument, he thereby gives prima facie authority to the holderthereof to make or complete, as the case may be, upon it a negotiableinstrument, for any amount specified therein and not exceeding the amountcovered by the stamp. The person so signing shall be liable upon suchinstrument, in the capacity in which he signed the same, to any holder in duecourse for such amount; provided that no person other than a holder in duecourse shall recover from the person delivering theinstrument anything in excess of the amount intended byhim to bepaid thereunder. _____________________ 1.Substituted by Act 3 of 1951, sec. 3 and Sch., for "theStates".

(1) The Institute shall constitute for the benefit of its officers, teachers and other employees in such manner and subject to such conditions as may be prescribed by regulations, such pension and provident funds as it may deem fit. (2) Where any such pension or provident fund has been constituted, the Central Government may declare that the provisions of the Provident Funds Act, 1925, shall apply to such fund as if it were a Government Provident Fund.

Where any gratuity, welfare or other fund has been established by a dissolved company or any other company in respect of a transferred unit for the benefit of its employees and is in existence immediately before the appointed day, all moneys and other assets standing to the credit of or relatable to such gratuity, welfare or other fund shall vest in the corresponding unit of the Integral Company or other transferee company, as the case may be.

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Act, 1998 Section 20
