Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976 Section 193

Title: Supply of Water for Domestic Purpose Not to Include Any Supply for Certain Specified Purpose

The supply of water for domestic purposes shall not be deemed to include any supply,- (a) for any trade, manufacture or business; (b) for gardens or for purposes of irrigation; (c) for building purposes; (d) for fountains, swimming baths, public baths or tanks or for any ornamental or mechanical purposes; (e) for animals, where they are kept for sale or hire for the sale of their produce or any preparation therefrom; (f) for the consumption and use by the inmates of hotels, boarding houses and residential clubs; (g) for the consumption and use by the persons resorting to theatres and cinemas; (h) for constructing or for watering streets; or (i) for washing vehicles where they are kept for sale or hire; but shall be deemed to include a supply,- (i) for flushing privies or drains; and (ii) for all baths other than swimming baths or public baths.

Title: Municipal Control over Drains, Etc.

(1) All sewers, drains, privies, water-closets, house-gullies and cesspools within the municipality shall be under the survey and control of the municipal council. (2) All covered sewers and drains, all cesspools, whether public or private, shall be provided by the municipal council or other person to whom they severally belong, with proper traps, or other coverings or means of ventilation and the municipal council may, by written notice, call upon the owner of any such covered sewers, drains or cesspools to make provision accordingly.

Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 Section 193

Title: Punishment of Agents and Canvassers Without Proper Authority

Whoever engages himself as an agent or canvasser in contravention of the provisions of section 93 or of any rules made thereunder shall be punishable for the first offence with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees and for any second or subsequent offence with imprisonment which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees, or with both.

Title: Contract by One Person Company

(1) Where One Person Company limited by shares or by guarantee enters into a contract with the sole member of the company who is also the director of the company, the company shall, unless the contract is in writing, ensure that the terms of the contract or offer are contained in a memorandum or are recorded in the minutes of the first meeting of the Board of Directors of the company held next after entering into contract: Provided that nothing in this sub-section shall apply to contracts entered into by the company in the ordinary course of its business. (2) The company shall inform the Registrar about every contract entered into by the company and recorded in the minutes of the meeting of its Board of Directors under sub-section (1) within a period of fifteen days of the date of approval by the Board of Directors.

Title: Work to Be Done by Licensed Plumber

.....the charges prescribed therefore, under that sub-section. (7) The Council shall make bye-laws providing for-- (a) the exercise of adequate control on all licensed plumbers; (b) the inspection of all works carried out by them; and (c) the hearing and disposal of complaints made by the owners or occupiers of premises with regard to the quality of work done, material used, delay in execution of work, and the charges made, by a licensed plumber. (8) No licensed plumber shall contravene any of the bye-laws made under this section or execute carelessly or negligently any work under this Act or make use of bad materials appliances or fittings. (9) If any licensed plumber contravenes sub-section (8), his licence may be suspended or cancelled whether he is prosecuted under this Act or not.
