Title: Quorum for Meetings of Board

.....of interested directors exceeds or is equal to two-thirds of the total strength of the Board of Directors, the number of directors who are not interested directors and present at the meeting, being not less than two, shall be the quorum during such time. Explanation.--For the purposes of this sub-section, "interested director" means a director within the meaning of sub-section (2) of section 184. (4) Where a meeting of the Board could not be held for want of quorum, then, unless the articles of the company otherwise provide, the meeting shall automatically stand adjourned to the same day at the same time and place in the next week or if that day is a national holiday, till the next succeeding day, which is not a national holiday, at the same time and place. Explanation.--For the purposes of this section,-- (i) any fraction of a number shall be rounded off as one; (ii) "total strength" shall not include directors whose places are vacant.

Whoever, while suffering from, or in circumstances in which he is likely to spread, any infectious or contagious disease,-- (a) makes, carries or offers for sale in a cantonment or takes any part in the business of making, carrying or offering for sale therein any article of food or drink or any medicine or drug for human consumption, or any article of clothing or bedding for personal use or wear, or (b) takes any part in the business of the washing or carrying of clothes, shall be punishable with fine which may extend to five thousand rupees.

Title: Disinfection of Building and Articles

(1) If the Nagar Panchayat or, as the case may be, the Council is of opinion that the cleansing or disinfecting of a building or any part thereof or of any article therein, which is likely to retain infection, will tend to prevent or check the spread of any disease, it may, by notice require the owner or occupier to cleanse or disinfect the same in the manner and within the time prescribed in such notice. (2) If-- (a) within the time specified as aforesaid from the receipt of the notice the person on whom the notice is served to have the building or part thereof or the article disinfected, or (b) the occupier or owner, as the case may be, gives his consent, the Nagar Panchayat or the Council may, at the cost of such owner or occupier, cause the building or part thereof and articles to be cleansed and disinfected: Provided th]at the Nagar Panchayat or the Council may, in its discretion pay the whole or any part of such cost.

Title: Application by Owners and Occupiers to Drain into Municipal Drains

.....with bye-laws made in this behalf; or (ii) any liquid or other matter the discharge of which into municipal drains is prohibited by or under this Act or any other law; or (b) where separate municipal drains are provided for foul water and for surface water to discharge directly or indirectly-- (i) foul water into a drain provided for surface water; or (ii) except with the permission of the Chairperson, surface water into a drain provided for foul water; or (c) to have his drains made to communicate directly with a storm-water overflow drain. (2) Any person desirous of availing himself of the provisions of sub-section (1) shall give to the Chairperson notice of his proposals, and at any time within one month after receipt thereof, the Chairperson may by notice to him refuse to permit the communication to be made, if it appears to him that the mode of construction or condition of the drain is such that the making of the communication would be prejudicial to the drainage system, and for the purpose of examining the mode of construction and condition of the drain he may, if necessary, require it to be laid open for inspection. Section 174 - Resignation of members A member of a Zilla Panchayat may resign his membership in writing under his hand addressed to the Adhyaksha of the Zilla Panchayat and his seat shall become vacant on the expiry of fifteen clear days from the date of such resignation unless within the said period of fifteen days, he withdraws such resignation by writing under his hand addressed to the Adhyaksha.1[The Adhyaksha shall cause the letter of resignation to be laid in the next meeting of the Zilla Panchayat.] ______________________ 1. If any railway servant (whether on duty or otherwise) or any other person obstructs or causes to be obstructed or attempts to obstruct any train or other rolling stock upon a railway,-- (a) by squatting or picketing or during any Rail roko agitation or bandh; or (b) by keeping without authority any rolling stock on the railway; or (c) by tampering with, disconnecting or interfering in any other manner with its hose pipe or tampering with signal gear or otherwise, he shall be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees, or with both.

(1) All property of the nature herein specified, and not being specially reserved by Government, shall be vested in and belong to the corporation and shall, together with all other property or whatsoever nature or kind not being specially reserved by Government, which may become vested in the corporation, be under its direction, management and control and shall be held and applied by it as trustee, subject to the provisions and for the purposes of this Act, that is to say,- (a) all public parks, playgrounds, and open spaces reserved for ventilation; (b) all public lamps, lamp posts and apparatus connected therewith or appertaining thereto; (c) all gates, markets, slaughter houses, manure and refuse depots and public buildings of every description. (2) The corporation may accept trusts relating exclusively to the furtherance of purposes to which the corporation funds may be applied.
