Title: Appointment of Directors to Be Voted Individually

(1) At a general meeting of a company, a motion for the appointment of two or more persons as directors of the company by a single resolution shall not be moved unless a proposal to move such a motion has first been agreed to at the meeting without any vote being cast against it. (2) A resolution moved in contravention of sub-section (1) shall be void, whether or not any objection was taken when it was moved. (3) A motion for approving a person for appointment, or for nominating a person for appointment as a director, shall be treated as a motion for his appointment.

Title: Powers and Duties Conferrable and Imposable on Members of the Force

.....confer or impose, with the concurrence of the State Government concerned, any of the powers or duties which may be exercised or discharged under a State Act by a police officer upon a member of the Force who, in the opinion of the Central Government, holds a corresponding or higher rank. (3) Every order made under this section shall be laid, as soon as may be after it is made, before each House of Parliament while it is in session for a total period of thirty days which may be comprised in one session or in two or more successive sessions, and if, before the expiry of the session immediately following the session or the successive sessions aforesaid, both Houses agree in making any modification in the order or both Houses agree that the order should not be made, the order shall thereafter have effect only in such modified form or be of no effect, as the case may be; so, however, that any such modification or annulment shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under that order.

Title: Action on Report Submitted by Health Officer

Upon receipt of a report submitted by the Health Officer under section 161, the Chief Executive Officer may, by notice in writing,-- (a) prohibit the supply of milk from the dairy until the notice has been withdrawn; or (b) prohibit the washerman from washing clothes or other articles in any such place or by any such process as aforesaid until the notice has been withdrawn or unless he uses such place in such manner, or washes by process, as the Chief Executive Officer may direct in the notice; or (c) prohibit the medical practitioner or the paramedical worker from using any such needles, syringes or other such equipment unless the notice is withdrawn or rectification as may be required in the notice is carried out.

Title: Amendment of Section 8

In section 8 of the Central Sales Tax Act, in sub-section (1), for the portion beginning with the words "shall be liable" and ending with the words "whichever is lower", the following shall be substituted, namely:-- "shall be liable to pay tax under this Act, with effect from such date as may be notified by the Central Government in the Official Gazette for this purpose, which shall be two per cent. of his turnover or at the rate applicable to the sale or purchase of such goods inside the appropriate State under the sales tax law of that State, or, as the case may be, under any enactment of that State imposing value added tax, whichever is lower: Provided that the rate of tax payable under this sub-section by a dealer shall continue to be four per cent. of his turnover, until the rate of two per cent. takes effect under this sub-section.".

Title: Appointment of Chief Electrical Inspector and Electrical Inspector

(1) The Appropriate Government may, by notification, appoint duly qualified persons to be Chief Electrical Inspector or Electrical Inspectors and every such Inspector so appointed shall exercise the powers and perform the functions of a Chief Electrical Inspector or an Electrical Inspector under this Act exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be prescribed within such areas or in respect of such class of works and electric installations and subject to such restrictions as the Appropriate Government may direct. (2) In the absence of express provision to the contrary in this Act, or any rule made thereunder, an appeal shall lie from the decision of a Chief Electrical Inspector or an Electrical Inspector to the Appropriate Government or if the Appropriate Government, by general or special order so directs, to an Appropriate Commission.

(1) The Chairperson may provide a water-meter and attach the same to the service pipe in premises connected with municipal water works. Title: Entering Carriage or Other Place Reserved for Females

If a male person knowing or having reason to believe that a carriage, compartment, berth or seat in a train or room or other place is reserved by a railway administration for the exclusive use of females, without lawful excuse,-- (a) enters such carriage, compartment, room or other place, or having entered such carriage, compartment, room or place, remains therein; or (b) occupies any such berth or seat having been required by any railway servant to vacate it, he shall, in addition to being liable to forfeiture of his pass or ticket, be punishable with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees and may also be removed by any railway servant.
