Designs Act, 2000 Section 13

Title: Procedure for Disposal of Applications for Restoration of Lapsed Designs

(1) If, after hearing the applicant in cases where the applicant so desires or the Controller thinks fit, the Controller is satisfied that the failure to pay the fee for extension of the period of copyright was unintentional and that there has been no undue delay in the making of the application, the Controller shall upon payment of any unpaid fee for extension of the period of copyright together with prescribed additional fee restore the registration of design. (2) The Controller may, if he thinks fit as a condition of restoring the design, require that any entry shall be made in the register of any document or matter which under the provisions of this Act, has to be entered in the register but which has not been so entered.

State of Nagaland Act, 1962 Section 13

Title: Common High Court for Assam and Nagaland

(1) As from the appointed day,- (a) there shall be a common High Court for the State of Assam and the State of Nagaland to be called the High Court of Assam and Nagaland1(hereinafter referred to as the common High Court); (b) the Judges of the High Court of Assam holding office immediately before that day shall, unless they have elected otherwise, become on that day the Judges of the common High Court. (2) Expenditure in respect of the salaries and allowances of the Judges of the common High Court shall be allocated between the Stale of Assam and the State of Nagaland in such proportion as the President may by order determine. ________________________ 1. A new High Court called the Gauhati High Court has been created which is a Common High Court for the States of Assam, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Manipur and Tripura.

Indian Partnership Act, 1932 Section 13

Title: Mutual Rights and Liabilities

Subject to contract between the partners, (a) a partner is not entitled to receive remuneration for taking part in the conduct of the business; (b) the partners are entitled to share equally in the profits earned, and shall contribute equally to the losses sustained by the firm; (c) where a partner is entitled to interest on the capital subscribed by him such interest shall be payable only out of profits; (d) a partner making, for the purposes of the business, any payment or advance beyond the amount of capital he has agreed to subscribe, is entitled to interest thereon at the rate of six per cent per annum; (e) the firm shall indemnify a partner in respect of payments made and liabilities incurred by him (i) in the ordinary and proper conduct of the business, and (ii) in doing such act, in an emergency, for the purpose of protecting the firm from loss, as would be done by a person of ordinary prudence, in his own case, under similar circumstances; and (f) a partner shall indemnify the firm for any loss caused to it by his wilful neglect in the conduct of the business of the firm.

(1) The Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains (Amendment and Validation) Ordinance, 2010 (Ordinance 1 of 2010) is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act, as amended by the said Ordinance, shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of the principal Act as amended by this Act.

Comptroller and Auditor-generals (Duties, Powers and Conditions of Service), Act, 1971 Section 13

Title: General Provisions Relating to Audit

It shall be the duty of the Comptroller and Auditor-General (a) to audit all expenditure from the Consolidated Fund of India and of each State and of each Union territory having a Legislative Assembly and to ascertain whether the moneys shown in the accounts as having been disbursed were legally available for and applicable to the service or purpose to which they have been applied or charged and whether the expenditure conforms to the authority which governs it; (b) to audit all transactions of the Union and of the States relating to Contingency Funds and Public Accounts, (c) to audit all trading, manufacturing, profit and loss accounts and balance sheet and other subsidiary accounts kept in any department of the Union or of a State; and in each case to report on the expenditure, transactions or accounts so audited by him.

Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961 Section 13

Title: Hours of Work

No adult motor transport worker shall be required or allowed to work for more than eight hours in any day and forty eight hours in any week: Provided that where any such motor transport worker is engaged in the running of any motor transport service on such long distance routes, or on such festive and other occasions as may be notified in the prescribed manner by the prescribed authority, the employer may, with the approval of such authority, require or allow such motor transport worker to work for more than eight hours in any day or forty-eight hours in any week but in no case for more than ten hours in a day and fifty-four hours in a week, as the case may be: Provided further that in the case of a break-down or dislocation of a motor transport service or interruption of traffic or act of God, the employer may, subject to such conditions and limitations as may be prescribed, require or allow any such motor transport worker to work for more than eight hours in any day or more than forty-eight hours in any week.

Title: Power as to Making and Revocation of Orders in Council

(1) It shall be lawful for Her Majesty in Council from time to time to make Orders for the purposes of this Act and to revoke and vary any Order so made, and every Order so made shall, while it is in force, have the same effect as if it were enacted in this Act. (2) An Order in Council made fore the purposes of this Act shall be laid before Parliament as soon as may be after it is made if Parliament is then in session, or, if not, as soon as may be after the commencement of the then next session of Parliament.

Collection of Statistics Act 1953 Section 13

Title: Protection of Action Taken in Good Faith

No suit or other legal proceeding shall lie against the appropriate Government, the statistics authority, or any other person acting under the authority of the appropriate Government or of the statistics authority in respect of anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done in pursuance of this Act or of any rules or directions issued thereunder.
