Title: Rules for Procedure in Slave Trade Matters

(1) It shall be lawful for Her Majesty the Queen in Council by Order to make rules as to the practice and procedure0 (including fees and costs) to be observed in and the returns to be made from Colonial Courts of Admiralty and Vice-Admiralty Courts in the exercise of their jurisdiction in matters relating to the slave trade, and in and from East African Courts as defined by the Slave Trade (East African Courts) Acts, 1873 and 1879. (2) Except when inconsistent with such Order in Council, the rules of Court for the time being in force in a Colonial Court of Admiralty or Vice-Admiralty Courts shall, so far as applicable, extend to proceedings in such Court in matters relating to the slave trade. (3) The provisions of this Act with respect to appeals to Her Majesty in Council, from Courts in British possessions in the exercise of the jurisdiction conferred by this Act, shall apply, with the necessary modifications, to appeals from judgments of any East African Court made or purporting to be made in exercise of the jurisdiction under the Slave Trade (East African Courts) Acts, 1873 and 1879.

(2) The Comptroller and Auditor-General of India or any other person appointed by him in connection with the auditing of the accounts of the Board under this Act shall have the same rights and privileges and the authority in connection with such audit as the Comptroller and Auditor-General of India has in connection with the auditing of the Government accounts and, in particular, shall have the right to demand the production of books, accounts, connected vouchers and other documents and papers and to inspect any of the officers of the Board under this Act. (3) The accounts of the Board shall be audited by the comptroller and Auditor-General of India annually and any expenditure incurred in connection with such audit shall be payable by the Board to the Comptroller and Auditor-General of India. (4) The Board shall furnish to the Central Government before such date as may be prescribed its audited copy of accounts together with auditor's report.
