1 [(1)Independently of the author's copyright and even after the assignment eitherwholly or partially of the said copyright, the author of a work shall have theright-- (a) to claim authorship of thework; and (b) to restrain or claim damagesin respect of any distortion, mutilation, modification or other act inrelation to the said work which is done before the expiration of the term ofcopyright if such distortion, mutilation, modification or other act would beprejudicial to his honour or reputation: Provided that the author shall not have any righttp restrain of claim damages in respect of any adaptation of a computerprogramme to which clause (aa) of sub-section (1) of section 52 applies. COPYRIGHT ACT, 1957 COPYRIGHT ACT, 1957 [Act No. 14 of Year 1957, dated 4th. June, 1957] An Act to amend and consolidate the law relating to copyright Be it enacted by Parliament in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows: - CHAPTER I: PRELIMINARY SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Copyright Act, 1957. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date1 as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. THE KERALA LAND CONSERVANCY ACT, 1957 [1] THE KERALA LAND CONSERVANCY ACT, 1957 [1] ACT 8 OF 1958 An Act to check the unauthorised occupation of Government lands. Preamble.- WHEREAS it is necessary to enact a uniform law for checking the unauthorised occupation of Government lands; BE it enacted in the Eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title, extent and commencement .--(1) This Act may be called the Kerala Land conservancy Act, 1957. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Kerala . (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. Repeal .-The Travancore-Cochin Land Conservancy Act, 1951, and the Madras Land Encroachment Act, 1905 as in force in the Malabar district referred to in sub-section (2) of section 5 of the States Reorganisation Act, 1956 (Central Act 37 of 1956), are hereby repealed. 3.
