THE SIKKIM STATE COMMISSION FOR WOMEN ACT, 2001 THE SIKKIM STATE COMMISSION FOR WOMEN ACT, 2001 ACT NO. 11 OF 2001 AN ACT to constitute a Commission for Women in the State of Sikkim and to provide for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. Be it enacted by the Legislature of Sikkim in the Fifty-Second Year of the Republic of India as follows: - CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY Short title, extent and commencement. 1. (1) This Act may be called the Sikkim State Commission for Women Act, 2001. (2) It extends to the whole of Sikkim. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette. Appoint. Definitions. 2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires: (a) "Administrative Department" means the Department of Social Welfare.
