(1) Nothing in this Act shall apply to-- (a) the use of any insecticide by any person for his own household purposes or for kitchen garden or in respect of any land under his cultivation; (b) any substance specified or included in the Schedule or any preparation containing any one or more such substances, if such substance or preparation is intended for purposes other than preventing, destroying, repelling or mitigating any insects rodents fungi, weeds and other forms of plant or animal life not useful to human beings. (2) The Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, and subject to such conditions, if any, as it may specify therein, exempt from all or any of the provisions of this Act or the rules made thereunder any educatidnal, scientific or research organisation engaged in carrying out experiments with insecticides.

INSECTICIDES ACT, 1968 INSECTICIDES ACT, 1968 46 of 1968 2nd September, 1968 An Act to regulate the import, manufacture, sale, transport, distribution and use of insecticides with a view to prevent risk to human beings or animals, and for matters connected therewith Be it enacted by Parliament in the Nineteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows: SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Insecticides Act, 1968. (2) It extends to the whole of India. .....SHORT TITLE These rules may be called the Seeds Rules, 1968. RULE 02: DEFINITIONS -In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires.- (a)"Act" means the Seeds Act, 1966 (54 of 1966) : (b)"advertisement" means all representations other than those on the label, disseminated in any manner or by any means relating to seed for the purposes of the Act; (c) "certification sample" means a sample of seed drawn by a certification agency or by a duly authorised representative of a certification agency established underSec. 8-or recognized under Sec. 18-of the Act; (d)"certification tag" means a tag or label of certain design to be specified by the certification agency and shall constitute the certificate granted by the certification agency ; (e) "certified seed" means seed that fulfils all requirements for certification provided by the Act and these rules and to the container of which the certification tag is attached; (f) "certified seed producer" means a person who grows or distributes certified seed in accordance with the procedure and standards of the certification agency ; (g)"complete record" means the information which relates to the origin, variety, kind,.....
