Karnataka Land Reforms Act, 1961 Chapter II

Title: General Provisions, Regarding Tenancies

.....Act to agricultural land in 1 [Gulbarga Area] and application of Chapter V of that Act to tenancies and leases (1) The Transfer of Property Act, 1882 (Central Act V of 1882) shall extend to agricultural land in the 1 [Gulbarga Area], and the terms "property" and "immoveable property" in the said Act shall include agricultural land. (2) The provisions of Chapter V of the Transfer of Property Act, 1882, shall, in so far as they are not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, apply to the tenancies and leases of lands to which this Act applies. _______________________________ 1. Title: Special Provisions Regarding Motor Vehicle Subject to Hire Purchase Agreement, Etc.

1 [7B. General duties of manufacturers, etc., as regards articles and substances for use in factories (1) Every person who designs, manufactures, imports or supplies any article for use in any factory, shall- (a) ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that the article is so designed and constructed as to be safe and without risks to the health of the workers when properly used; (b) carry out or arrange for the carrying out of such tests and examination as may be considered necessary for the effective implementation of the provisions of clause (a); (c) take such steps as may be necessary to ensure that adequate information will be available-- (i) in connection with the use of the article in any factory; (ii) about the use for which it is designed and tested; and (iii) about any conditions necessary to ensure that the article, when put to such use, will be safe, and without risks to the health of the workers: Provided that where an article is designed or manufactured outside India, it shall be obligatory on the part of the importer to see- (a) that the article conforms to the same standards if such article is manufactured in India, or (b) if the standards.....

Coast Guard Act, 1978 Section 94

Title: Order for Disposal of Property Regarding Which Offence is Committed

.....or document produced before the court or in its custody, or regarding which any offence appears to have been committed or which has been used for the commission of any offence. (2) Where any order has been made under sub-section (1) in respect of property regarding which an offence appears to have been committed, a copy of such order signed and certified by the authority making the same may, whether the trial was held within India or not be sent to a Magistrate within whose jurisdiction such property for the time being is situated, and such Magistrate shall thereupon cause the order to be carried out into effect as if it were an order passed by him under the provisions of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973. (3) In this section, the term "property" includes, in the case of property regarding which an offence appears to have been committed, not only such property as has been originally in the possession or under the control of any person, but also any property into or for which the same may have been converted or exchanged, and anything acquired by such conversion or exchange whether immediately or otherwise.

Mental Health Act, 1987 Chapter VI

Title: Judicial Inquisition Regarding Alleged Mentally Ill Person Possessing Property,custody of His Person and Management of His Property

(1) Where the mentally ill person is incapable of taking care of himself, the District Court or, where a direction has been issued under sub-section (2) of section 54, the Collector of the District, may appoint any suitable person to be his guardian. (2) In the discharge of his functions under sub-section (1), the Collector shall be subject to the supervision and control of the State Government or of any authority appointed by it in that behalf. Section 54 - Appointment of manager for management of property of mentally ill person (1) Where the property of the mentally ill person who is incapable of managing it is such as can be taken charge of by a Court of Wards under any law for the time being in force, the District Court shall authorise the Court of Wards to take charge of such property, and thereupon notwithstanding anything contained in such law, the Court of Wards shall assume the management of such property in accordance with that law. .....payment of any sum exceeding one month's rent of such premises as rent in advance. (3) It shall not be lawful for the tenant or any other person acting or purporting to act on behalf of the tenant or a sub-tenant to claim or receive any payment in consideration of the relinquishment, transfer or assignment of his tenancy or sub-tenancy, as the case may be, of any premises. (4) Nothing in this section shall apply-- (a) to any payment made in pursuance of an agreement entered into before the 1st day of January, 1939; or (b) to any payment made under an agreement by any person to a landlord for the purpose of financing the construction of the whole or part of any premises on the land belonging to, or taken on lease by, the landlord, if one of the conditions of the agreement is that the landlord is to let to that person the whole or part of the premises when completed for the use of that person or any member of his family: Provided that such payment does not exceed the amount of agreed rent for a period of five years of the whole or part of the premises to be let to such person. Where a business is carried on between a resident and a non-resident and it appears to the Assessing Officer that, owing to the close connection between them, the course of business is so arranged that the business transacted between them produces to the resident either no profits or less than the ordinary profits which might be expected to arise in that business, the Assessing Officer shall determine the amount of profits which may reasonably be deemed to have been derived therefrom and include such amount in the total income of the resident.
