.....good faith done or intended to be done under this Act. (2) No Suit or other legal proceeding shall lie against the State Government for any damage caused by anything which is in good faith done or intended to be done under this Act. Power to make rules. 12 The State Government may by notification make rules for carrying out the purposes of this Act. Repeal. 13 The East Punjab Reclamation of Land Act, 1949 (XXII of 1949 ), and the Pepsu Reclamation of Land Act, 2009 ( Act V of 2009 BK), are hereby repealed, but notwithstanding such repeal by any orders made, any notification issued, anything done, any action taken or any proceedings commenced in exercise of the powers conferred by or under the said Acts shall be deemed to have been made, issued, done, taken or commenced in the exercise of powers conferred by or under this Act. THE KERALA CONSERVATION OF PADDY LAND AND WETLAND ACT, 2008 ACT 28 OF 2008 THE KERALA CONSERVATION OF PADDY LAND AND WETLAND ACT, 2008 An Act to conserve the paddy land and wetland and to restrict the conversion or reclamation thereof, in order to promote growth in the agricultural sector and to sustain the ecological system, in the State of Kerala. Preamble .- WHEREAS it has come to the notice of the Government that indiscriminate and uncontrolled reclamation and massive conversion of paddy land and wetland is taking place in the State; AND WHEREAS there is no existing law to restrict effectively, the conversion or reclamation of paddy land; AND WHEREAS the Government are satisfied that it is expedient, in public interest to provide for the conservation of paddy land and wetland and to restrict the conservation or reclamation thereof, in order to promote agricultural growth, to ensure food security and to sustain the ecological system in the State of Kerala; BE it enacted in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1.
