.....; AND WHEREAS the sanction of the Governor-General has been obtained, under section 5 of the Indian Councils Act, 1892, to the provisions of this Act, which affect Acts passed by the Governor-General of India in Council ; AND WHEREAS the sanction of the Governor-General has also been obtained, under section 43 of the Indian Councils Act, 1861, to the enactment of the provisions of Chapter V of this Act, relating to taxation ; It is hereby enacted as follows : CHAPTER 1 Preliminary Section 1 Short title, commencement and extent (1) This Act may be called the Calcutta Improvement Act,1911.
