THE BOMBAY PROVINCIAL MUNICIPAL CORPORATIONS (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008 [ACT No. IV of 2009] [06 January 2009] PREAMBLE An Act further to amend the Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949. WHEREAS both Houses of the State Legislature were not in session; AND WHEREAS the Governor of Maharashtra was satisfied that circumstances existed which rendered it necessary for him to take immediate action further to amend the Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporations Act, 1949 (Bom. LIX of 1949), for the purposes hereinafter appearing; and, therefore, promulgated the Bombay Provincial Municipal Corporations (Amendment) Ordinance, 2008, on the 3rd October 2008 (Mah. Ord. VII of 2008); AND WHEREAS it is expedient to replace the said Ordinance by an Act of the State Legislature; it is hereby enacted in the Fifty-nineth Year of the Republic of India as follows:--
