Title: The Pro-chancellor

(1) The Minister-in-charge of Higher Education in Karnataka shall, by virtue of his office be the Pro-Chancellor of the University. (2) He shall have such powers and functions as may be prescribed by statutes.

Title: Authorities of the University

(2) The Academic Council shall be the principal academic body of the University and shall, subject to the provisions of this Act, the Statutes and Ordinances, have the control and general regulation of and be responsible for the maintenance of standards of learning, education, instruction, evaluation and examination within the University and shall exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be conferred or imposed upon it by the statutes. Title: The Board of Management

(1) The Board of Management shall be the principal executive body of the University, consisting of the following members :- (1) the Vice-Chancellor; (2) the Registrar; (3) the Secretary in charge of Higher Education, Government of Karnataka; (4) the Secretary to Finance Department; (5) a Vice-Chancellor of the Universities in the State of Karnataka nominated by the pro-chancellor by rotation for such period as may be specified; (6) the Dean (Academic); (7) five distinguished persons from the educational, scientific and administrative fields to be nominated by the Pro-Chancellor: Provided that from amongst the nominated persons under this clause, one shall be a person belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and two shall be women; (8) two Members of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elected from among themselves; (9) two Members of the Karnataka Legislative Council elected from among themselves. THE CONSTITUTION (SEVENTY-THIRD AMENDMENT) ACT, 1992 [20th April, 1993.] An Act further to amend the Constitution of India. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Forty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Constitution (Seventy-third Amendment) Act, 1992. (2) It shall come into force on such date_680 as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint. 2. Insertion of new Part IX.- After Part VIII of the Constitution, the following Part shall be inserted, namely:- "PART IX * THE PANCHAYATS 243. Definition -In this Part, unless the context otherwise requires:- a) "district" means a district in a State; b) "Gram Sabha" means a body consisting of persons registered in the electoral rolls relating to a village comprised within the area of Panchayat at the village level; c) "Intermediate level" means a level between the village and district levels specified by the Governor of a State by public notification to be the intermediate level for the purposes of this Part; d) "Panchayat" means an institution ( by whatever name called) of self-government.....

The Sikkim Home Guards Act, 1992 Complete Act
