(1) The Minister-in-charge of Higher Education in Karnataka shall, by virtue of his office be the Pro-Chancellor of the University. (2) He shall have such powers and functions as may be prescribed by statutes.

Title: Authorities of the University

Title: The Board of Management

(1) The Board of Management shall be the principal executive body of the University, consisting of the following members :- (1) the Vice-Chancellor; (2) the Registrar; (3) the Secretary in charge of Higher Education, Government of Karnataka; (4) the Secretary to Finance Department; (5) a Vice-Chancellor of the Universities in the State of Karnataka nominated by the pro-chancellor by rotation for such period as may be specified; (6) the Dean (Academic); (7) five distinguished persons from the educational, scientific and administrative fields to be nominated by the Pro-Chancellor: Provided that from amongst the nominated persons under this clause, one shall be a person belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and two shall be women; (8) two Members of the Karnataka Legislative Assembly elected from among themselves; (9) two Members of the Karnataka Legislative Council elected from among themselves. THE CONSTITUTION (SEVENTY-THIRD AMENDMENT) ACT, 1992 [20th April, 1993.] An Act further to amend the Constitution of India. BE it enacted by Parliament in the Forty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:- 1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Constitution (Seventy-third Amendment) Act, 1992.
