.....RULES, 1999 In exercise of the power conferred by sub-section (1), read with sub-section (2), of section 47 of the West Bengal Premises Tenancy Act, 1997 (West Bengal Act XXXVII of 1997), the Governor is pleased hereby to make the following rules Rule 1 Short title These rules may be called the West Bengal Premises Tenancy Rules, 1999. Rule 2 Definitions In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires, - (a) the expression "the Act' means the West Bengal Premises Tenancy Act, 1997 (West Bengal Act XXXVII of 1997); (b) "Form" means a form appended to these rules; (c) "section" means a section of the Act; (d) words and expressions used in these rules and not defined shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act. Rule 3 Form of receipt for rent and charges relating to maintenance of premises The receipt referred to in sub-section (1) of section 4 shall be in Form 1.
