Title: Power to Name Streets and Number Buildings

(1) The Grama Panchayat may cause a name to be given to any street and may also cause a number to be affixed to any building or part of a building and may, from time to time, cause such name and number to be altered. (2) No person shall destroy , remove, deface or in any way injure or alter any such name or number or put up or paint any name or number different from that put up or painted by the order of the Grama Panchayat. (3) Any person who destroys, removes, injures, alters or defaces any such name or number or puts any name or number different from that put up by order of the Grama Panchayat and any owner of any premises who does not at his own expenses keep such number in good order after it has been put up shall, on conviction , be punished with fine which may extend to one hundred rupees.
