THE [TAMIL NADU] HINDU RELIGIOUS AND CHARITABLE ENDOWMENTS ACT, 1959 THE 1 [TAMIL NADU] HINDU RELIGIOUS AND CHARITABLE ENDOWMENTS ACT, 1959 1 [Act No. 22 of 1959] 2 [2nd December, 1959] PREAMBLE An Act to amend and consolidate the law relating to the administration and governance of Hindu Religious and Charitable Institutions and Endowments in the 3[State of Tamil Nadu]; WHEREAS it is expedient to amend and consolidate the law relating to the administration and governance of Hindu Religious and Charitable Institutions and Endowments in the 3[State of Tamil Nadu]; BE it enacted in the Tenth Year of the republic of India as follows:- ________________________ 1. These words were substituted for the word "Madras" by the Tamil Nadu Adaptation of Laws Order, 1969, as amended by the Tamil Nadu Adaptation of Laws (Second Amendment) Order, 1969. 2. For the Statement of Objects and Reasons, See Fort St. George Gazette Extraordinary, dated the 13th April 1959, Part IV-A, page 213.
