(a) any tax or duty being a tax or duty enumerated in the State List in the Seventh Schedule to the Constitution, or (b) any duty referred to in Article 268, or (c) any tax under the Central Sales Tax Act, 1956, which have fallen due in the existing Union territory of Himachal Pradesh shall pass to the State of Himachal Pradesh. (4) The provisions of this section shall not apply to or in relation to,-- (a) any benefit or burden of any assets, rights, liabilities or obligations of the Union under the Punjab Reorganisation Act, 1966 attributable to the transferred territories as defined in the said Act; (b) any institution, undertaking or project the expenditure in relation to which is immediately before the appointed day met from out of the Consolidated Fund of India; (c) any property which has been placed by the Union at the disposal of the Administration of the existing Union territory of Himachal Pradesh subject to the condition that the ownership thereof will continue to vest in the Union. Title: Obligation to Render Assistance on Receiving Signal of Distress

.....to proceed with all speed to the assistance of the persons in distress unless he is released from the obligation under the provisions of sub-section (4). (3) The master shall be released from the obligation imposed by sub-section (1) as soon as he is informed of the requisition of one or more ships other than his own and that the requisition is being complied with by the ship or ships requisitioned. (4) The master shall be released from the obligation imposed by sub-section (1), and if his ship has been requisitioned, from the obligation imposed by sub-section (2), if he is informed by the persons in distress or by the master of any ship that has reached the persons in distress that assistance is no longer required. (5) If the master of an Indian ship on receiving at sea a signal of distress or information from any source that a vessel or aircraft is in distress is unable or in the special circumstances of the case considers it unreasonable or unnecessary to go to the assistance of the persons in distress; he shall forth with cause a statement to be entered in the official log book or, if there is no official log book, cause other record to be kept of his reasons.....

Government of India Act, 1935 [Repealed] Section 178

Title: Special Provisions as to Existing Loans, Guarantees and Other Financial Obligations

.....revenues of the Province, all liabilities in respect of those loans and obligations shall, as from that date, be liabilities of the Government of and shall be secured upon the revenues of, the corresponding Province under this Act. Title: Provisions as to Certain Obligations of the Railway Authority

(2) It shall be an obligation of the Authority to repay tothe Federa-tion any sums defrayed out of the revenues of Federation in respectof any debt, damages, costs, or expenses in, or in connection with, anyproceedings brought or continued by or against the Federation or against theSecretary of State under Part VII of this Act in respect of railways in India. (3) It shall be an obligation of the Authority to pay toany Province or Indian State such sums as may be equivalent to the expensesincurred by that Province or State in the provision of police required for themaintenance of order on Federal railway premises, and any question which mayarise between the Authority and a Province or State as to the amount of anyexpenses so incurred shall be determined by the Governor-General in hisdiscretion. ________________________ 1.
