.....TAMIL NADU TAX ON PROFESSIONS, TRADES, CALLINGS AND EMPLOYMENTS ACT, 1992 THE TAMIL NADU TAX ON PROFESSIONS, TRADES, CALLINGS AND EMPLOYMENTS ACT, 1992 (ACT NO.24 OF 1992) [Received the assent of the Governor on the 12th June, 1992 and published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette Extraordinary No.355, dated 15th June,1992 at Page Nos. 91 to 105.] An act to consolidate and to provide for the levy and collection of tax on professions, trades, callings and employments in this State. WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the levy and collection of a tax on professions, trades, callings and employments; BE it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Forty third Year of the Republic of India as follows :- 1. Short title, extent and commencement - (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1992. (2) It extends to the whole of the State of Tamil Nadu. (3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of April 1992. Notes Constitutional validity of the Act :- As per Entry 60, the relevant tax is only on professions, trades, callings and employments and not.....

.....(Travel) Tax Abolition Ordinance, 1992 on 29th May, 1992 for this purpose. (2) The Bill seeks to replace the said Ordinance -Gaz. of Ind., 3-8-92. Pt. II, S. 2 Ext., P-2 (No. .44) An Act further to amend the Finance Act, 1987. Be it enacted by Parliament in the Forty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Foreign Exchange Conservation (Travel) Tax Abolition. Act, 1992. (2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 1st day of June, 1992. SECTION 02: OMISSION OF CHAPTER V OF FINANCE ACT, 1987 - Chapter V of the Finance Act, 1987-(hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), relating to the Foreign Exchange Conservation (Travel) Tax, shall be omitted. SECTION 03: REPEAL AND SAVING (1) The Foreign Exchange Conservation (Travel) Tax Abolition Ordinance, 1992 is hereby repealed. (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the principal Act, as amended by the said Ordinance, shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act, as amended by this Act. .....conferred by Section 3 of the Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature (Delegation of Powers) Act, 1992 (21 of 1992), the President is pleased to enact as follows:- Section 1 Short title and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Jammu and Kashmir Cancellation of Orders and Amendment of Instruments Act, 1992. (2) It shall come into force at once. Section 2 Definitions In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "allottee" means such persons in whose favour allotment of plot has been made in Sector I of Roop Nagar Housing Colony, Jammu by or under or in pursuance of Government Order No. 371-UD of 1989 dated 21-11-1989; (b) "authority" means the Jammu Development Authority constituted under S.3 of the Jammu and Kashmir Development Act, 1970; (c) "instrument" includes any agreement, lease, deed or contract executed between the allottee and the authority; (d) ' 'property' ' means plot of land allotted to any person in Roop Nagar Housing Colony, Jammu by or under or in furtherance of Government Order No. 371-UD of 1989 dated 21-11-1989.
