Exemptions from Land Revenue (No.1) Act, 1863 Complete Act

.....and who have dispensed with an inquiry into such title, the said lands shall (subject to the enactments contained in Section 3 (The words "of this Act" were repealed by the Bombay General Clauses Act, 1886 (Bom. 3 of 1886), Schedule B. .....to the Duties of Customs on Goods imported and exported by sea, which provides that Spirits so imported exclusively for the purposes of Arts and Manufactures or Chemistry shall be admitted at a less rate of Duty than Spirits similarly imported for human consumption as a beverage......... Religious Endowments Act, 1863 Section 8

Title: Qualifications of Member of Committee

The members of the said committee shall be appointed from among persons professing the religion for the purposes of which the mosque, temple or other religious establishment, was founded, or is now maintained, and in accordance, so far as can be ascertained, with the general wishes of those who are interested in the maintenance of such mosque, temple or other religious establish­ment. The appointment of the committee shall be notified in the Official Gazette. Ascertaining whishes of persons interested.- In order to ascertain the general wishes of such persons in respect of such appointment, the State Government may cause an election to be held, under such rules1[by notification in the Official Gazette] not incon­sistent with the provisions of this Act, as shall be framed by such State Government. 1[Every rule framed under this section shall be laid, as soon as it is framed, before the State Legislature.] ________________________ 1. Waste Lands (Claims) Act, 1863 Section 5

Title: Delivery to Claimant of Copy of Order of Rejection or of Sale

.....to be recorded, shall see fit to grant, give notice in writing to such Collector or other officer as aforesaid, that he intends to contest such order, the order shall be final. Waste Lands (Claims) Act, 1863 Section 20

Title: When Land Sold Not Absolutely, or Not Sold, but Otherwise Dealt with

If the land shall have been sold subject to any condition reservation, or shall not have been sold, but shall have been otherwise dealt with on account of {Subs., ibid., for " the Govt."}[the State Government], and the Court shall be of opinion that the claim to such land, or the objection of an objector, is established, the Court shall award the claimant or objector to receive such sum, in respect of his interest in such land, as shall be awarded in that behalf under the provisions of [See now the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (1 of 1894), section 2.] Act 6 of 1857 (for the acquisition of lands for public purposes), and thereupon the State Government shall proceed under the said Act to obtain an upward of the value of such interest.
