Vaccination Act, 1880 Complete Act

.....for any local area under its administration by notification in the Official Gazette, during which alone vaccination may be performed under this Act. SECTION 03: EXTENSION OF ACT TO MUNICIPALITIES - A majority in number of the persons present at a meeting of the Municipal Commissioners specially convened in this behalf may apply to the State Government to extend this Act to the whole or any part of a municipality, and thereupon the State Government may, if it thinks fit, by notification published in the Official Gazette, declare its intention to extend this Act in the manner proposed. Any inhabitant of such municipality or part thereof who objects to such extension may within six weeks from the date of such publication, send his objection in writing to the Secretary to the State Government, and the State Government shall take such objection into consideration. When six weeks from the said publication have expired the State Government, if no such objections have been sent as afore- said, or (when such objections have been so sent) if in its opinion they are insufficient, may _by like notification effect the proposed extension. .....27 Grantees to be responsible for all damages The grantees shall be answerable for all accidents, damages and injuries happening through their act or default, or through the act or default of any person in their employment by reason or in consequence of any of their works or carriages, and shall save harmless the Corporation and their officers and servants from all damages and costs in respect of such accidents, damages and injuries. Section 28 Power for the Corporation and police to regulate traffic on roads Nothing in this Act shall limit the powers of the Corporation or the police to regulate the passage of any traffic along or across any road along or across which any tramways are laid down, and the Corporation or police may exercise their authority as well on as off the tramway, and with respect as well to the traffic of the grantees as to the traffic of other persons.
