Short title and application " (1) This Act may be called the Madras City Tenants' Protection Act, 1921. Substituted by Tamil Nadu Act 11 of 1980 [ " (2) (a) It extends to, - (i) the City of Madras; (ii) the townships of Kodaukanal, Avadi, Kathiwakkam, Ambattur, Madhavaram, Bhavanisagar, Courtallam and Mettur.
