.....it enacted by Parliament in the Thirty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows:- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Export-Import Bank of India Act, 1981. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date1as the Central Government may, by notification in the Office of this Act in the Official Gazette, appoint, and different dates may be appointed for different provisions SECTION 02: DEFINITIONS. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- (a) "Board" means the Board of Directors of Exim Bank referred to in S. 6; (b) "Development Bank" means the Industrial Development Bank of India established under the Industrial Development Bank of India Act, 1964- (c) "Exim Bank" means the Export-Import Bank of India established under section 3-; (d) "export" and "import" mean, respectively, export from or import into India or any other country of goods or services, or both; (e) "goods" includes all materials, commodities and articles in a solid, liquid or gaseous state and all forms of energy; (f) "notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette; (g) "prescribed" means.....

Title: Business of the Exim Bank

.....as agent of the Central Government, any State Government, the Reserve Bank, the Development Bank or any other person as the Central Government may authorise; (v) collecting, compiling and disseminating market and credit information in respect of international trade; (w) doing any other kind of business which the Central Government may authorise; (x) generally doing such other acts and things as may be incidental to, or consequential upon, the exercise of its powers or the discharge of its duties under this Act or any other law for the time being in force, including sale or transfer of any of its assets. (3) The Exim Bank may receive in consideration of any of the services mentioned in sub-sections (1) and (2) such commission, brokerage, interest, remuneration of fees as may be agreed upon. (4) The Exim Bank shall not grant any loan or advance or other financial accommodation on the security of its own bonds or debentures.

Title: Insertion of New Section 21aa

.....association of persons as is referred to in sub-section (1) is satisfied that the association of persons was guilty of any of the acts specified in section 18 or section 18A, he may impose or direct the imposition of a penalty in accordance with the provisions of the said sections. (4) Every person who was at the time of such discontinuance or dissolution a member of the association of person, and the legal representative of any such person who is deceased shall be jointly and severally liable for the amount of tax, penalty or other sum payable, and all the provisions of this Act, so far as may be, shall apply to any such assessment of imposition of penalty or other sum. (5) Where such discontinuance or dissolution takes place after any proceedings in respect of an assessment year have commenced, the proceedings may be continued against the persons referred to in sub-section (4) from the stage at which the proceedings stood at the time of such discontinuance or dissolution, and all the provisions of this Act shall, so far as may be, apply accordingly. The State Government of Haryana has indicated that owing to financial constraints and lack of technical expertise, the State Government is not in a position to take over this cement factory for restarting and running it. 3. The liability of the factory on its restart has been assesed and in the interest of restarting production of cement and also to provide employment to the workers, the Central Government had decided that it would be in the public interest to acquire the cement factory of this company and to transfer it to the Cement Corporation of India which is a public sector undertaking engaged in the manufacture and sale of cement. 4. (m) "Notification" means a notification published in the Official Gazette. (n) "primary rural credit society" means a co-operative society by whatever name called,-- (1) Which has as its object or business the provision of financial accommodation to its members for agriculture or agricultural operations or for the marketing of crops, or for rural development; and (2) the bye-laws of which do not permit admission of any other co-operative society as member: Provided that this sub-clause shall not apply to the admission, as a member, of a co-operative society, which is a State co-operative bank or a central co-operative bank by reason of such bank subscribing to the share capital.....
