THE PONDICHERRY LAND ENCROACHMENT ACT, 1970 (Act No. 2 of 1971) 8th February, 1971 An Act to provide measures for checking unauthorised occupation of lands which are the property of Government in the Union territory of Pondicherry. Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Pondicherry in the Twenty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:- Short title, extent and commencement:- 1. (1) This Act may be called the Pondicherry Land Encroachment Act, 1970. (2) It extends to the whole of the Union territory of Pondicherry.
