Operation and maintenance etc. of the schemes by the Board (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in this Act or in any other law for the time being in force, if in the opinion of the Government it is expedient in public interest so to do, it may, by order, direct the Board to investigate, prepare, and execute any scheme in any local area and, subject to such terms and conditions as it may specify, to operate and maintain all works connected with such scheme.
