Title : Power to Arrest Without Warrant

(1) A police officer in uniform may arrest without warrant, (a) any person who being required under the provisions of this Act to give his name and address refuses to do so, or gives a name and address which the police officer has reason to believe to be false, or (b) any person concerned in an offence under this Act or reasonably suspected to have been so concerned, if the police officer has reason to believe that he will abscond or otherwise avoid the service of summons. (c) A police officer or other authority arresting without warrant the driver of a vehicle or animal shall, if the circumstances so require, take or cause to be taken any steps he may consider proper for the temporary custody of the vehicle or animal. Karnataka Traffic Control Act, 1960 Section 21

Title : Summary Disposal of Cases

(1) A court taking cognizance of an offence under this Act may state upon the summons to be served on the accused person that he, (a) may appear by a legal practitioner and not in person, or (b) may by a specified date prior to the hearing of the charge plead guilty to the charge by registered letter and remit to the court such sum as the court may specify. (2) Where an accused person pleads guilty under clause (b) of sub-section (1) and remits the sum specified, no further proceedings in respect of the offence shall be taken against him. Any company or society established for a literary, scientific or charitable purpose, and registered under Act 43 of 18501, or any such society established and constituted previously to the passing of this Act but not registered under the said Act 43 of 18501, may at any time hereafter be registered as a society under this Act; Assent required.-- Subject to the proviso that no such company or society shall be registered under, this Act unless an assent to its being so registered has been given by three-fifths of the members present personally, or by proxy, at some general meeting convened for that purpose by the governing body. Societies Registration Act, 1860 Section 19

Title : Inspection of Documents

Any person may inspect all documents filed with the Registrar under this Act on payment of a fee of one rupee for each inspection; and any person may require a copy or extract of any document or any part of any document, to be certified by the registrar, on payment of two annas for every hundred words of such copy or extract; and such certified copy shall be prima facie evidence of the matters therein contained in all legal proceedings whatever. Karnataka Traffic Control Act, 1960 Section 18

Title : General Provision Regarding Punishment of Offences

Whoever contravenes any provision of this Act or of any rule made thereunder shall, if no other penalty is provided for the offence, on conviction, be punishable with fine which may extend to ten rupees, or if having been previously convicted of any offence under this Act, he is again convicted of an offence under this Act, with fine which may extend to fifty rupees.
