Title: Amendment of Section 9

In section 9 of the Income-tax Act, in subsection (1), in clause (vi), in Explanation 2, with effect from the 1st day of April, 2002,- (i) after clause (iv), the following clause shall be inserted, namely :- "(iva) the use or right to use, any industrial, commercial or scientific equipment but not including the amount referred to in section 44BB ;" ; (ii) in clause (vi), for the words, brackets and figures "sub-clauses (i) to (v)", the words, brackets, figures and letter "sub-clauses (i) to (iv), (iva) and (v)" shall be substituted

Advocates Welfare Fund Act, 2001 Chapter IV

Title: Recognition of Any Association of Advocates

.....an association, apply for recognition to the State Bar Council in such form as may be prescribed. (3) Every application for recognition under sub-section (1) or sub-section (2) shall be accompanied by,-- (a) a copy of the rules or bye-laws of the association; (b) names and addresses of office bearers of the association; (c) a list of members of the association containing the name, address, age, enrolment number and date of enrolment with the State Bar Council and the ordinary place of practice of each member. (4) The State Bar Council may, after such enquiry as it deems necessary, recognise the association and issue a certificate of recognition in such form as may be prescribed. (5) The decision of the State Bar Council on any matter regarding recognition of an association under sub-section (4) shall be final. Explanation.--In this section, "registered" means registered or deemed to be registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 (21 of 1860) or any other law for the time being in force. Title: Meetings of Authority

(2) The Chairperson of the Authority shall preside at the meetings of the Authority. Title: Duration and Effect of Registration and Benefit Sharing

(6) The certificate of registration issued under this section or sub-section (8) of section 23 shall be valid for nine years in the case of trees and vines and six years in the case of other crops and may be reviewed and renewed for the remaining period on payment of such fees as may be fixed by the rules made in this behalf subject to the condition that the total period of validity shall not exceed,-- (i) in the case of trees and vines, eighteen years from the date of registration of the variety; (ii) in the case of extant variety, fifteen years from the date of the notification of that variety by the Central Government under section 5 of the Seeds Act, 1966; and (iii) in other cases, fifteen years from the date of registration of the variety. Section 25 - Publication of list of varieties The Authority shall, within such intervals as it thinks appropriate, publish the list of varieties which have been registered during that interval.
