Title: Provisions as to Existing Indo-tibetan Border Police Force

(1) The Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force in existence at the commencement of this Act shall be deemed to be the Force constituted under this Act. (2) The members of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force in existence at the commencement of this Act shall be deemed to have been appointed or, as the case may be, enrolled as such under this Act. (3) Anything done or any action taken before the commencement of this Act in relation to the constitution of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police Force referred to in sub-section (1), in relation to any person appointed, or enrolled, as the case may be, thereto, shall be a valid and as effective in law as if such thing or action was done or taken under this Act : Provided that nothing in this sub-section shall render any person guilty of any offence in respect of anything done or omitted to be done by him before the commencement of this Act.

THE INDO-TIBETAN BORDER POLICE FORCE ACT, 1992 [Act, No. 35 of 1992] [1st September, 1992] PREAMBLE An Act to provide for the constitution and regulation of an armed Force of the Union for ensuring the security of the borders of India and for matters connected therewith. .....in the Eleventh Year of the Republic of India as follows : SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE This Act may be called The Acquired Territories (Merger) Act, 1960. West Pakistan -- Punjab border.- Of the total of 325 miles of the border in this sector, demarcation has been completed along about 252 miles. About 73 miles of the border has not yet been demarcated due to differences between the Governments of India and Pakistan regarding interpretation of the decision and Award of the Punjab Boundary Commission presented by Sir Cyril Radcliffe as Chairman of the Commission. These differences have been settled along the lines given below in a spirit of accommodation : (ii) Chak Ladheke (Amritsar-Lahore border).- The Governments of India and Pakistan agree that the delineation of the boundary will be as shown in the map of the Kasur Tehsil by Sir Cyril Radcliffe and Chak Ladheke will in consequence fall within the territorial jurisdiction of the Government of India.
