(1) Subject to the provisions of sub-section (2), any document or information obtained by the Reserve Bank under sections 12 to 14 (both inclusive) shall be kept confidential. (2) Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (1), the Reserve Bank may disclose any document or information obtained by it under sections 12 to 14 (both inclusive) to any person to whom the disclosure of such document or information is considered necessary for protecting the integrity, effectiveness or security of the payment system, or in the interest of banking or monetary policy or the operation of the payment systems generally or in the public interest. Title : Duty to Keep Documents in the Payment System Confidential

(1) A system provider shall not disclose to any other person the existence or contents of any document or part thereof or other information given to him by a system participant, except where such disclosure is required under the provisions of this Act or the disclosure is made with the express or implied consent of the system participant concerned or where such disclosure is in obedience to the orders passed by a court of competent jurisdiction or a statutory authority in exercise of the powers conferred by a statute. (2) The provisions of the Bankers' Book Evidence Act, 1891 shall apply in relation to the information or documents or other books in whatever form maintained by the system provider. Title : Award of Interest Where Any Claim is Allowed

Where any Tribunal makes an order for maintenance made under this Act, such Tribunal may direct that in addition to the amount of maintenance, simple interest shall also be paid at such rate and from such date not earlier than the date of making the application as may be determined by the Tribunal which shall not be less than five per cent. and not more than eighteen per cent.: Provided that where any application for maintenance under Chapter IX of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973(2 of 1974) is pending before a Court at the commencement of this Act, then the Court shall allow the withdrawal of such application on the request of the parent and such parent shall be entitled to file an application for maintenance before the Tribunal. Title : Measures for Publicity, Awareness, Etc., for Welfare of Senior Citizens

The State Government shall, take all measures to ensure that-- (i) the provisions of this Act are given wide publicity through public media including the television, radio and the print, at regular intervals; (ii) the Central Government and State Government Officers, including the police officers and the members of the judicial service, are given periodic sensitization and awareness training on the issues relating to this Act; (iii) effective co-ordination between the services provided by the concerned Ministries or Departments dealing with law, home affairs, health and welfare, to address the issues relating to the welfare of the senior citizens and periodical review of the same is conducted. (1) The Central Government may make rules providing for the registration of newspapers for transmission by inland post as registered newspapers. (2) For the purpose of such registration, every publication, consisting wholly or in great part of political or other news, or of articles relating thereto or to other current topics, with or with out advertisements, shall be deemed a newspaper, subject to the following conditions, namely:-- (a) that it is published in numbers at intervals of not more than thirty-one days; and (b) that it has a bonafide list of subscribers.
