Indira Gandhi National Open University Act, 1985 Complete Act

SECTION 30: CONDITIONS OF SERVICE OF EMPLOYEES (1) Every employee of the University shall be appointed-under a written contract and such contract shall not be inconsistent with .the provisions of this Act, the Statutes and the Ordinances. (2) The contract referred to in sub-section (1) shall be lodged with the University and a copy of which shall be furnished to the employee concerned. SECTION 31: TRIBUNAL OF ARBITRATION (1) Any dispute arising out of a contract of employment referred to in S. 30 between the University and an employee shall, at the request of either party, be referred to a Tribunal of Arbitration which shall consist of one member nominated by the Board of Management, one member nominated by the employee concerned and an umpire to be nominated by the Visitor. (2) Every such reference shall be deemed to be a submission to arbitration upon the terms of this section within the meaning of the Arbitration Act, 1940-, and all the provisions of that Act, with the exception of S. 2 thereof, shall apply accordingly. .....means the system of imparting education through any means of communication, such as broadcasting, telecasting, correspondence courses, seminars, contact programmes or the combination of any two or more of such means; (f) "employee" means any person appointed by the University, and included teachers and other academic staff of the University; (g) "Finance Committee" means the Finance Committee of the University; (h) "Governing Body", in relation to a College, means any body (by whatever name called) charged with the management of the affairs of the College and recognised as such by the University; (i) "Planning Board" means the Planning Board of the University; (j) "Regional Centre" means a centre established or maintained by the University for the purpose of co-ordinating and supervising the work of Study Centres in any region and for performing such other functions as may be conferred on such centre by the Board of Management; (k) "Regulations" means the Regulations made by any authority of the University under this Act for the time being in force; (l) "School" means a School of Studies of the University; (m) "Statutes" and "Ordinances" means, respectively, the.....

.....of the University; (m) "Principal" means the Head of a College or an Institution, and includes where there is no Principal, the person for the time being duly appointed to act as Principal, and, in the absence of the Principal or acting Principal, a Vice-Principal duly appointed as such; (n) "recognised institution" means an institution of higher learning recognised by the University; (o) "recognised teachers" means such persons as are recognised by the University for the purpose of imparting instructions in a College or an Institution admitted to the privileges of the University; (p) "School" means a School of Studies of the University; (q) "Statutes", "Ordinances" and "Regulations" means, respectively, the Statutes, Ordinances and Regulations of the University for the time being in force; (r) "teachers of the University" means Professors, Readers, Lecturers and such other persons as may be appointed for imparting instruction or conducting research in the University or in any College or Institution maintained by the University and are designated as teachers by the Ordinances; (s) "University" means the Pondicherry University.

An Act to provide for the better regulation of marketing of agricultural produce and establishment and proper administration of markets for agricultural produce and matters connected therewith in the State of Nagaland. Whereas sanction of the President of India under the proviso to clause (b) of Article 304 of the Constitution of India has been obtained.
