THE COCHIN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ACT, 1986[1] ACT 31 OF 1986 THE COCHIN UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ACT, 1986 [1] An Act to provide for the reorganisation of the University of Cochin . Preamble. " WHEREAS it is expedient to provide for the reorganization of the University of Cochin and convert it into a full fledged University of Science and Technology for the promotion of graduate and post-graduate studies and advanced research in applied science, technology, industry, commerce, management and social science; BE it enacted in the Thirty-seventh Year of the Republic of. India as follows: " Chapter 1 Preliminary 1. Short title and commencement " (1) This Act may be called the Cochin University of Science and Technology Act, 1986. (2) Sections 19, 20, 21, 22, 29 and 54 of this Act shall come into force at once and the remaining provisions shall be deemed to have come into force on the 25th day of February, 1986. 2.
