.....Parliament in the Fiftieth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- CHAPTER 1. PRELIMINARY 1. Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the Trade Marks Act, 1999. (2) It extends to the whole of India. (2) Where the licence is transferred and the proceeds of the transfer (so far as they consist of capital sums) are less than the expenditure incurred remaining unallowed, a deduction equal to such expenditure remaining unallowed, as reduced by the proceeds of the transfer, shall be allowed in respect of the previous year in which the licence is transferred. Be it enacted by parliament in the ninth year of the republic of India as follows - SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) The Act may be called the Trade and Merchandise Marks Act, 1958.
