Title: Right of Pleaders to Practise in Certain Cases

Any person who, immediately before the appointed day, is enrolled as a pleader entitled to practise in any subordinate Courts in the existing State of Punjab shall, for a period of one year from that day, continue to be entitled to practise in those courts, notwithstanding that the whole or any part of the territories within the jurisdiction of those courts has been transferred to the State of Haryana or to a Union territory.

.....for the time being in force; and includes premium, rent, lease money, quit rent, judi payable by a Inamdar or any other payment provided under any Act, rule, contract or deed on account of any land; (20) "legal practitioner" has the meaning assigned to it in the Advocates Act, 1961 (2 1) "non-agricultural assessment" means the assessment fixed on any land under the provisions of this Code or rules there under with reference to the use of the land for a non-agricultural purpose; (22) "occupancy" means a portion of land held by an occupant; (23) "occupant" means a holder in actual possession of unalienated land, other than a tenant or Government lessee; provided that, where a holder in actual possession is a tenant, the landholder or the superior landlord, as the case may be, shall be deemed to be the occupant; (24) "occupation" means possession; (25) "to occupy land" means to possess or to take possession of land; (26) "pardi land" means a cultivated land appertaining to houses within a village site; (27) "population" in relation to any area means population as ascertained at the last preceding census of which the, relevant figures have been published; (28) "prescribed" means.....

.....the session or the successive sessions aforesaid, both Houses agree in making any modification in the rule or both Houses agree that the rule should not be made, the rule shall thereafter have effect only in such modified form or be of no effect, as the case may be, so however that any such modification or annulment shall be without prejudice to the validity of anything previously done under that rule. ________________________ 1. .....entitled to practise or an attorney entitled to an act in the High Court of Punjab shall be recognized as advocate or an attorney entitled to practise or act, as the case may be, in the High Court of Delhi Section7 Practice and Procedure in the High Court of Delhi Subject to the provisions of the Act, the law in force immediately before the appointed day with respect to practice and procedure in the High Court of Delhi and accordingly the High Court of Delhi shall have all such powers to make rules and orders with respect to practice and procedure as are immediately before the appointed day exercisable by the High Court of Punjab and shall also have powers to make rules and orders with respect to practice and procedure for the exercise of its ordinary original civil jurisdiction: Provided that any rules or orders which are, in force immediately before the appointed day with respect to practice and procedure in the High Court of Punjab shall, until varied or revoked .by rules or orders made by the High Court of Delhi, apply with the necessary modifications in relation to practice and procedure in the High Court of Delhi as if made by that High Court Section8.....
