.....of tenants (1) Notwithstanding anything contained in any contract or law to the contrary but subject to the provisions of the Industrial Disputes Act, 1947 (Act XIV of 1947), and to those of Section 18, where a tenant is in possession of any building, he shall not be liable to eviction there from except in execution of a decree passed by the Court on one or more of the following grounds:- (a) for breach of the conditions of the tenancy, or for sub-letting the building or any portion thereof without the consent of the landlord, or if he is an employee of the landlord occupying the building as an employee, on his ceasing to be in such employment; (b) where the condition of the building has materially deteriorated owing to acts of waste by, or negligence or default of the tenant or of any person residing with the tenant or for whose behaviour the tenant is responsible; (c) where the building is reasonably and in good faith required by the landlord for his own occupation or for the occupation of any person for whose benefit the building is held by the landlord: Provided that where the Court thinks that the reasonable requirement of such occupation may be substantially.....

.....Be it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:- SECTION 01: SHORT TITLE, EXTENT AND COMMENCEMENT (1) This Act may be called the Designs Act, 2000 (2) It extends to the whole of India. (3) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint; and different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act, and any reference in any such provision to the commencement of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that provision. SECTION 02: DEFINITIONS -In this Act, unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context,- (a) "article" means any article of manufacture and any substance, artificial, or partly artificial and partly natural; and includes any part of an article capable of being made and sold separately; (b) "Controller" means the Controller-General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks referred to inSec.3-; (c) "copyright" means the exclusive right to apply a design to any article in any class in which the design is registered; (d) "design" means only the features of shape, configuration, pattern, ornament or composition.....

Notwithstanding anything contained in the code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, (2 of 1974) , all offences under this Act shall be tried in a summary way by any Judicial Magistrate of First Class and provisions of sections 262 to 265 (both inclusive) of the said code shall, as far as maybe, apply to such trial. Provided that in a case of conviction for any offence in a summary trial under this section, it shall be lawful for the Magistrate to pass a sentence of imprisonment for any term for which such offence is punishable under this Act.
