.....or particulars on which the permission was granted; or (C) is being carried on, or has been completed in breach of any of the provisions of this Act or of any rule or bye-law made under this Act or of any direction or requisition lawfully given or made under this Act or such rules or bye-laws, or (ii) that any alterations required by any notice issued under sub-section (8) have not been duly made, he may make a provisional order requiring the owner or the builder to demolish the work done, or so much of it as, in the opinion of the Municipal Commissioner or Chief Officer, has been unlawfully executed, or make such alterations as may, in the opinion of the Municipal Commissioner or Chief Officer, be necessary to bring the work into conformity with this Act, rules, bye-laws, direction or requisition as aforesaid, or with the plans or particulars on which such permission was based, and may also direct that until the said order is complied with, the owner or builder shall refrain from proceeding with the building. Title: Prohibition of Nuisance

.....without proper authority removes, destroys, defaces or otherwise obliterates any notice or other document put up or exhibited under this Act or the rules or bye-laws made thereunder; or (b) makes any grave or burns or buries any corpse at any place not set apart for such purpose; or (c) at any time or place at which the same has been prohibited by the municipal council by public or special notice, beats any drum or TOMTOM, or blows as horn or trumpt, or beats any utensil, or sounds any brass or other instrument, or plays, any music; or (d) without proper authority disturbs the public peace or order by singing, screaming or shouting, or by using any apparatus for amplifying or reproducing the human voice, such as a megaphone or a loudspeaker; or (e) lets loose any animal so as to cause, or negligently allows any animal to cause injury, danger, alarm or annoyance to any person; or (f) save with the written permission of the Municipal Commissioner or Chief Officer and in such manner as he may authorise, stores or uses night soil, cow-dung, manure, rubbish or any other substance emitting an offensive smell; or (g) uses or permits to be used as a latrine any place not.....

.....his allegiance or his duty, or prejudice the recruitment or discipline of any such force; or (iv) incite any section of the citizens of India to acts of violence against any other section of the citizens of India; or which,-- (v) is deliberately intended to outrage the religious feelings of any class of the citizens of India by insulting or blaspheming or profaning the religion or the religious beliefs of that class; or (vi) is grossly indecent, or is scurrilous or obscene or intended for blackmail; Explanation I.A performance shall not be deemed to be objectionable merely because in the course thereof words are uttered, or signs or visible representations are made, expressing disapprobation or criticism of any law or of any policy or administrative action of the Government with a view to obtain its alteration or redress by lawful means. Explanation II.In judging whether any performance is an objectionable performance, the play, pantomime or other drama shall be considered as a whole. Title: Power to Prohibit Objectionable Performance

.....shall drop further proceedings. (b) If the persons to whom a notice is issued under sub-section (1),-- (i) do not show cause as aforesaid; or (ii) shows cause as aforesaid, and after considering the representations made and any evidence adduced, the State Government is satisfied that the performance is objectionable, the State Government may, by order, stating the grounds on which it considers the performance objectionable, prohibit the performance. (3) Every order made under clause (b) of sub-section (2) shall forthwith be published in the official Gazette. (4) Any order made under clause (b) or sub-section (1) may also be notified by proclamation and a written or printed notice thereof may be affixed at any place or places adapted for giving information of the order to the persons intending to take part in the performance so prohibited.

A copy of the order made under section 3 or section 4 may be served personally or in such other manner as may be prescribed by rules made under section 13, on the organizers or other principal per sons responsible for the conduct of, or any person about to take part in, the performance so prohibited or on the owner or occupier of the public place in which such performance is intended to take place. 6. Penalty for disobeying order. Any person on whom a copy of the order referred to in section 3 or section 4 is served and who does, or willingly permits, any act in disobedience of such order, shall, on conviction, be punishable with impri sonment for a term which may extend to three months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both. 7.
