Title: Chairperson to Take Steps for Repairing or Enclosing Dangerous Places

(1) If any place is, in the opinion of the Chairperson, for want of sufficient repair or protection or enclosure, or owing to some work being carried on thereupon, dangerous or causing inconvenience to passengers along a street or to other persons including the owner or occupier of the said place, who have legal access thereto or to the neighbourhood thereof, the Chairperson may by notice in writing require the owner or occupier of such place to repair, protect or enclose the same or take such other step as shall appear to the Chairperson necessary in order to prevent the danger or inconvenience arising therefrom. (2) The Chairperson may before giving any such notice or before the period of any such notice has expired, take such temporary measures as he thinks fit to prevent the danger or inconvenience arising therefrom; and any expense incurred by the Chairperson in taking such temporary measures shall be recoverable from the owner or occupier of the place as an arrear of tax under this Act,

BOMBAY TENANCY AND AGRICULTURAL LANDS ACT, 1948 BOMBAY TENANCY AND AGRICULTURAL LANDS ACT, 1948 67 of 1948 An Act to amend the law relating to tenancies of agricultural lands and to make certain other provisions in regard to those lands. WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the law which governs the relations of landlords and tenants of agricultural lands; AND WHEREAS, on account of the neglect of a landholder or disputes betsveen a landholder and his tenants, the cultivation of his estate has seriously suffered, or for the purpose of improving the economic and social conditions of peasants or ensuring the full and efficient use of land for agriculture, it is expedient to assume management of estates held by landholders and to regulate and impose restrictions on the transfer of agricultural lands, dwelling houses, sites and lands appurtenant thereto belonging to or occupied by agriculturists, agricultural labourers and artisans in the Province of Bombay and to make provisions for certain other purpose hereinafter appearing; It is enacted as follows:- CHAPTER 1 Preliminary Section 1 Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the BOMBAY.....

(2) Words and expressions used herein and not defined but defined in the Companies Act, 1956 (1 of 1956) or the Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956 (42 of 1956) or the Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 (15 of 1992), shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in those Acts. SECTION 03: CERTIFICATE OF COMMENCEMENT OF BUSINESS BY DEPOSITORIES. (1) No depository shall act as a depository unless it obtains a certificate of commencement of business from the Board.
