BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fifty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:-- CHAPTER I PRELIMINARY 1. Short title and Commencement.-- (1) This Act may be called the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) and Financial Institutions Laws (Amendment) Act, 2006. (2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint: Provided that different dates may be appointed for different provisions of this Act and any reference in such provision to the commencement of this Act shall be construed as a reference to the coming into force of that provision. CHAPTER II AMENDMENTS TO THE BANKING COMPANIES (ACQUISITION AND TRANSFER OF UNDERTAKINGS) ACT, 1970 2. Amendment of section 3.-- In section 3 of the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970(5 of 1970) (hereafter in this Chapter referred to as the Bank Nationalisation Act),-- (a) in sub-section (2B), for clause (c), the following shall.....
