West Bengal Municipal Corporation Act, 2006 Complete Act

.....performance, amusement, game, and sport to which persons are ordinarily admitted on payment; (36) "factory" means a factory as defined in the Factories Act, 1948 (63 of 1948); (37) "filth" includes offensive matter and sewage; (38) "footpath" or "footway" means pavement at the side of road or street for pedestrians; (39) "goods" includes animals; (40) "habitable room" means a room constructed or adapted for human habitation; (41) "heritage building or site" means any building of one or more premises, or any part thereof, or any monument, or any precinct, or any site, which requires preservation and conservation for historical, architectural, environmental or cultural purpose, and includes such portion of the land adjoining such building or any part thereof as may be required for fencing or covering or otherwise preserving such building, and also includes the areas and buildings requiring preservation and conservation for the purpose as aforesaid under subclause (ii) of clause (a) of sub-section (4) of section 31 of the West Bengal Town and Country (Planning and Development) Act, 1979(West Ben. Title: Sanitation and the Prevention and Treatment of Disease Sanitary Authorities

.....and urinals to be kept clean and in proper order: Provided that nothing in this section shall apply in the case of a factory to which the Factories Act, 1948 applies. Section 140 - Private latrines Subject to the provisions of the Employment of Manual Scavenger and Construction of Dry Latrine (Prohibition) Act, 1993, the Chief Executive Officer or any official of the Board authorised by him may, by notice in writing,-- (a) require the owner or other person having the control of any private latrine, or, urinal in the cantonment not to put the same to public use; or (b) where any plan for the construction of private latrines or urinals has been approved, and copies thereof may be obtained free of charge on application-- (i) require any person repairing or constructing any private latrine or urinal not to allow the same to be used until it has been inspected by an official of the Board authorised by the Chief Executive Officer, or under the direction of the Health Officer and approved by him as conforming with such plan; or (ii) require any person having control of any private latrine or urinal to re-build or alter the same in accordance with such plan; or .....

Title: Provision of Latrines, Etc.

The Chief Executive Officer may, by notice in writing, require the owner or lessee of any building or land in the cantonment to provide, in such manner as may be specified in the notice, any latrine, urinal, cesspool, dust-bin or other receptacle for filth, sewage, or rubbish, or any additional latrine, urinal, cesspool or other receptacle as aforesaid, which should, in his opinion, be provided for the building or land.
