Title: Penalty for Dishonest Use of Certificate

Any person who,- (a) dishonestly makes use of any certificate of registration issued under the provisions of this Act to him or to any other person, (b)procures or attempts to procure registration under the provisions of this Act by making or producing, or causing to be made or produced any false or fraudulent declaration, certificate or representation, whether in writing or otherwise, or (c)wilfully makes or causes to be made any false representation in any matter relating to the register or certificate issued under the provisions of this Act, -shall, on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to two hundred and fifty rupees for the first offence and for any subsequent offence with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees or with simple imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with both.

Adapted by the Karnataka Adaptations of Laws Order 1973 w.e.f. 1.11.1973 Section 34 - Repeal The Madras Nurses and Midwives Act, 1926 (Madras Act III of 1926), the Hyderabad Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Registration Act, 1951 (Hyderabad Act XIX of 1951) and the Bombay Nurses, Midwives and Health Visitors Act, 1954 (Bombay Act XIV of 1954), are hereby repealed: Provided that section 6 of the 1 [Karnataka] General Clauses Act, 1899 (1 [Karnataka] Act III of 1899), shall b applicable in respect of such repeal and sections 8 and 24 of the said Act shall be applicable as if the said enactments had been repealed and re-enacted by this Act. _______________________________ 1. (1) Whoever,- (a) contravenes any provisions of any of the sections of this Act or rules made under it, specified in the first column of Schedule XI; (b) contravenes any rule or order made under any of the said sections or rules; or (c) fails to comply with any direction lawfully given to him or any requisition lawfully made upon him under or in pursuance of the provisions of any of the said sections or rules, shall, on conviction, be punished with fine which may extend to the amount mentioned in that behalf in the third column of the said schedule.
