Cotton Ginning and Pressing Factories Act, 1925 Section 5

Title: Returns

.....the weekly returns, and shall publish in such manner as {Subs. by the A.O.1937 for "the G.G.in C.may direct".} [it thinks fit], a statement showing the total number of bales pressed in the State during the week and from the commencement of the season to the end of the week, to which the returns relate : Provided that the number of bales pressed in any individual factory shall not be published. (3) If default is made in submitting any return as required by sub-section (1), the owner of the factory shall be punished with fine which may extend to fifty rupees. (4) Where the owner of a cotton pressing factory has notified to the prescribed authority that the work of pressing bales in that factory has been suspended it shall not be necessary of the owner to submit returns under sub-section (1) until such work has been resumed. Explanation.--In this section "season" means the period notified in this behalf by the State Government in the Official Gazette.

Title: Structural Requirements for Factories

.....shall be provided with separate entrances and exits for the bringing in of unsigned and the taking out of ginned cotton respectively, and (b) the factories shall be constructed in accordance with plans and specifications approved by the prescribed authority : Provided that nothing in this sub-section shall apply to any factory in which only roller gins are used where the number of such gins if not more than four. {Ins.by Act 14 of 1939, s.2.}[(1A) If any cotton ginning factory, whether erected before or after commencement of this Act-- (a) no structural alterations or additions, the construction of which commenced after the 27th day of February, 1939, shall be made so as to minimize the degree of compliance of the factory as a whole with the requirements set forth in clauses (a) and (b) of sub-section (1), and (b) every structural addition (whether actually attached to any existing structure in the factory or not), the construction of which commenced after the last-mentioned date, shall be constructed in accordance with plans and specifications approved by the prescribed authority : Provided that nothing in this sub-section apply to any factory in which, after any.....

Title: Witholding or Recovery of Government Contributions in Case of Central Government Officers Taking Up, Without Prior Permission, Commercial Employment Within Two Years of their Retirement.

.....under this Section to a Central Government officer for taking up any commercial employment the Central Government shall have regard to the following factors, namely: (a) the nature of the employment proposed to be taken up and the antecedent of the employment ; (b) whether his duties in the employment which he proposes to take up might be such as to bring him into conflict with Government: (c) whether the officer white in service had any such dealing with the employer under whom he proposes to seek employment as might afford a reasonable basis for the suspicion that such officer had shown favour to such employer : (d) any other relevant factors which may be prescribed. (5) Where within a period of sixty days of the date of receipt of an application under sub-Section (3), the Central Government does not refuse to grant the permission applied for or does not communicate the refusal to the applicant, the Central Government shall be deemed to have granted the permission applied for. Title: Of Consangunity

.....mother; or (b) between those who are related to a person deceased by the full blood, and those who are related to him by the half blood; or (c) between those who were actually born in the lifetime of a person deceased, and those who at the date of his death were only conceived in the womb, but who have been subsequently born alive. Section 28 - Mode of computing of degrees of kindred Degrees of kindred are computed in the manner set forth in the table of kindred set out in Schedule I. Illustrations (i) The person whose relatives are to be reckoned, and his cousin-german, or first cousin, are, as shown in the table, related in the fourth degree; there being one degree of ascent to the father, and another to the common ancestor, the grandfather; and from him one of ascent to the uncle, and another to the cousin-german, making in all four degrees. (ii) A grandson of the brother and a son of the uncle, i.e., a great-nephew and a cousin-german, are in equal degree, being each four degree removed. (iii) A grandson of a cousin-german is in the same degree as the grandson of a great-uncle, for they are both in the sixth degree of kindred.

Indian Succession Act, 1925 Section 25

Title: Lineal Consanguinity

(1) Lineal consanguinity is that which subsists between two persons, one of whom is descended in a direct line from the other, as between a man and his father, grandfather and great-grandfather, and so upwards in the direct ascending line; or between a man and his son, grandson, great-grandson and so downwards in the descending line. (2) Every generation constitutes a degree, either ascending or descending. (3) A person's father is related to him in the first degree, and so likewise is his son; his grandfather and grandson in the second degree; his great-grandfather and great-grandson in this third degree, and so on.

Indian Succession Act, 1925 Section 26

Title: Collateral Consanguinity

(1) Collateral consanguinity is that which subsists between two persons who are descended from the same stock or ancestor, but neither of whom is descended in a direct line from the other. (2) For the purpose of ascertaining in what degree of kindred any collateral relative stands to a person deceased, it is necessary to reckon upwards from the person deceased to the common stock and then downwards to the collateral relative, a degree being allowed for each person, both ascending and descending.
