Registration Act, 1908 Section 36

Title: Procedure Where Appearance of Executant or Witness is Desired

If any person presenting any document for registration or claiming under any document, which is capable of being so presented, desires the appearance of any person whose presence or testimony is necessary for the registration of such document, the registering officer may, in his discretion, call upon such Officer or Court as the1[State Government] directs in this behalf to issue a summons requiring him to appear at the registration office, either in person or by duly authorized agent, as in the summons may be mentioned, and at a time named therein. STATE AMENDMENTS 2Gujarat: Same as that of Maharashtra. 3Maharashtra: In section 36, for the words "may, in his discretion" the words "in his discretion, may, upon receipt of the prescribed fee, issue or may" were substituted; and after the word "issue" a comma was inserted. _______________________________ 1. Northern India Canal and Drainage Act, I873 Section 16

Title: Application by Persons Desiring to Use Canal Water

.....such officer to construct or improve a water-course at the cost of the applicants. The application shall state the works to be undertaken, their approximate estimated cost, or the amount which the applicants are willing to pay for the same, or whether they engage to pay the actual cost as settled by the Divisional Canal-officer, and how the payment is to be made.(Contents of application.) When the assent of the Superintending Canal-officer is given to such application, all the applicants shall, after the application hasbeen duly attested before the Collector, be jointly and severally Liable for the cost of such works to the extent mentioned therein.(Liability of applicants for cost of works.) Any amount becoming due under the terms of such application and not paid to the Divisional Canal-officer, or the person authorised by him to receive the same, on or before the date on which is becomes due, shall, on the demand of such officer, be recoverable by the Collector as if it were an arrear of land-revenue.(Recovery of amount due.)

Karnataka Highways Act, 1964 Section 52

Title: Procedure to Be Followed when Highway Authority Desires Permanently to Close Any Highway

.....time and shall submit the final proposal to the State Government for approval together with such objections as may have been received against the proposal. (4) The State Government may either approve the proposal with or without modification, or reject it. (5) When the State Government has approved the proposal it shall publish its orders in the official Gazette. (6) When the orders of the State Government have been published in the official Gazette, the Highway Authority shall arrange for further publicity to be given to the orders in at least two newspapers having circulation in the place in which such highway is situate and the highway or part thereof shall then be closed. (7) Whenever any highway or any part thereof has been so closed, reasonable compensation shall be paid to every person who was entitled otherwise than as a mere member of the public, to use such highway or part thereof as a means of access to or from his property and has suffered damage by such closure.

Code of Civil Procedure 1908 Complete Act

.....in the Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970 (5 of 1970).
