Bombay Khadi and Village Industries Act, 1960, (Maharashtra) Section 2

Title: Definitions

.....Commission, hereby specifies the following industries for the purpose of the said clause (f), namely :- 1. Sericulture Industry 2. Salt manufacture 3. Manufacture of school chalk, crayons and slate pencils 4. Fruit canning 5. Cottage Industry of lime stone and its products 6. Manufacture of manure and methane gas from cowdung and waste products (such as flesh of dead animals, night soil and the like). (i) all or any of the industries specified in the Schedule to the Khadi and Village Industries Commission Act, 1956, and includes any other industry deemed to be specified in the said Schedule by reason of a notification issued under section 3 of that Act; or 9[(ia) any cottage industry, small scale industry or handicraft industry; or] (ii) any other industry specified in this behalf by the State Government by notification in the Official Gazette in consultation with the Commission and Board.] _________________ 1 Clause (a) was substituted by Mah. 28 of 1965, section 4(a). 2 These clauses were inserted, ibid., section 4(b). 3 Clauses (ad) and (ae) were inserted by Mah. 55 of 1977, section 2(a). 4 These words were substituted for the words and figures.....

Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act, 1960 Complete Act

.....rights, assets, or liabilities in relation to all or any of the banks concerned. (4) Notwithstanding anything contained in the Transfer of Property Act, 1882 or the Registration Act, 1908, the order issued under sub-section (1) shall be sufficient conveyance for transfer or vesting the rights, assets and liabilities of the banks concerned as provided in the order. (5) The amalgamation of banks under this section shall not affect any rights or obligations of the banks so amalgamated or render defective any legal proceedings which might have been continued or commenced by or against any such banks ; and accordingly, such legal proceedings may be continued or commenced by or against the amalgamated bank. (6) Where two or more banks have been amalgamated, the registration of the bank in which the other banks are amalgamated may be continued and the registration of the other banks may be cancelled, or where the amalgamated bank is newly registered, the registration of all the amalgamating banks shall be cancelled. .....and khadi industry. Basically , the scheme of the Acts appeared the same; nevertheless, there were divergent provisions in some matters in these Acts. There was no such corresponding Act in force in the Kutch area and the Act in force in the old Bombay State area did not provide for regulating the khadi industry. Moreover, in view of the impending bifurcation of the State, the Board functioning under the Bombay Act was again likely to be an inter-State Corporation and go out of the competent of the State Legislature. In the circumstances, it was considered necessary to take immediate action to consolidate the existing laws and replace them by a single law for developing and regulating village industries as well as the khadi industry and to take power to form regional Boards so that as from the day fixed for bifurcation, the new Boards established may continue to function in the two States with full swing, without further legislative action. Further, it was proposed to invest the new Boards which may be established with certain financial powers for the purpose of avoiding delay in the implementation of their programmes or schemes as approved by Government. BOMBAY TENANCY AND AGRICULTURAL LANDS ACT, 1948 BOMBAY TENANCY AND AGRICULTURAL LANDS ACT, 1948 67 of 1948 An Act to amend the law relating to tenancies of agricultural lands and to make certain other provisions in regard to those lands. WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend the law which governs the relations of landlords and tenants of agricultural lands; AND WHEREAS, on account of the neglect of a landholder or disputes betsveen a landholder and his tenants, the cultivation of his estate has seriously suffered, or for the purpose of improving the economic and social conditions of peasants or ensuring the full and efficient use of land for agriculture, it is expedient to assume management of estates held by landholders and to regulate and impose restrictions on the transfer of agricultural lands, dwelling houses, sites and lands appurtenant thereto belonging to or occupied by agriculturists, agricultural labourers and artisans in the Province of Bombay and to make provisions for certain other purpose hereinafter appearing; It is enacted as follows:- CHAPTER 1 Preliminary Section 1 Short title, extent and commencement (1) This Act may be called the BOMBAY.....

Fund established under the Maharashtra State Tax on Professions, Trades, Callings and Employments Act, 1975 read with the Maharashtra Tax Acts (Amendment) Act, 1975, shall stand transferred to, and form part of, the Fund deemed to be established under sub-section (1) with effect from the date of commencement of this Act. The Maharashtra Land Revenue Code 1966 Complete Act
