.....convention, relating to narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances which may be ratified or acceded to by India after the commencement of this Act. (x) "manufacture", in relation to narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances, includes- (1) all processes other than production by which such drugs or substances may be obtained; (2) refining of such drugs or substances; (3) transformation of such drugs or substances; and (4) making of preparation (otherwise than in a pharmacy on prescription) with or containing such drugs or substances; (xi) "manufactured drug" means- (a) all coca derivatives, medicinal cannabis, opium derivatives and poppy straw concentrate; (b) any other narcotic substance or preparation which the Central Government may, having regard to the available information as to its nature or to a decision, if any, under any International Convention, by notification in the Official Gazette, declare to be a manufactured drug; but does not include any narcotic substance or preparation which the Central Government may, having regard to the available information as to its nature, or to a decision, if any, under any International Convention, by notification in the Official.....

Section 8 - Protection of action taken in good faith No suit, prosecution or other legal proceeding shall lie against the Controller, any Additional Controller, Inspector or any other person authorised by or under this Act to exercise any power or to perform any duty in respect of anything which is in good faith done.....

.....Inspector and other officer appointed under sub-section (1) shall exercise his powers and discharge the duties of his office under the general superintendence, direction and control of the Controller and shall exercise those powers and discharge those duties in the same manner and with the same effect as if they had been conferred or imposed on him directly by or under this Act and not by way of authorisation. (5) The Controller and every Additional Controller and other officer authorised by or under this Act may also (a) perform all or any of the functions of, and (b) exercise all or any of the powers conferred by this Act or any rule or order made thereunder, on, an Inspector.

Power to under take controlled delivery The Director General of Narcotics Control Bureau constituted under sub-section (3) of section 4 or any other officer authorised by him in this behalf, may, notwithstanding anything contained in this Act, undertake controlled delivery of any consignment to-- (a) any destination in India; (b) a foreign country, in consultation with the competent authority of such foreign country to which such consignment is destined, in such manner as may be prescribed.] ______________________ 1.
